Sublime is in the eye of the beholder...
Sundays used to be #sailingsunday. No racing sailboats for ol' Zeke this summer so I dedicated myself to curate good content and discovered some neat people really enjoying Sundays. Being the end of the weekends for which I live, I found myself noticing that Sundays were indeed sublime. Who knew?
My Sunday Journey this day took me from the belly of the big city back home through all kinds of weather. Here are a couple highlights:
The day started out in the heart of Toronto where my family was competing in Family Feud Canada. Yes you heard that right. You know there will be more to that story as the episodes air and I will give you some notice to catch my latest 15 minutes of fame.
This shot is inspired by our metropolitan pal @tattoodjay. Hit straight up shots always bring me back to my decades in the big city. Having moved to a small town almost a decade ago, the straight up shots generally gets trees or sky. So, I HAD to shoot one of these for him.
The angles mesmerize you as you gaze upon perhaps 1000 people in their homes?
Time to hit the open road. With the big performance out of the way, the radio plays the songs that will make up the voyage back home with the dog. The sky seems to have a little of everything as we begin.
The blue sky gets enveloped with grey and the wind whips up to mark the beginning of November. It also looks like the sky just over the bridge appears to be dumping some sort of precipitation on the land.
The windshield wipers kick into gear as the rain turns to small ice pellets turn into the first snow of the year.
As we battle the onslaught, the sky appears to be lightening on the other side of the bridge. I need some new windshield wipers.
Perhaps the sun will make another appearance?
The snow continues to transform to water as it hits the windshield and road. I am glad we are not dealing with an accumulation as I have not yet switched to snow tires. No end in sight now. Autumn rumbles its way in and teases how it may make way for winter rather quickly. The blue is windshield tint and not blue sky now.
Will the blue sky return? This almost looks summer like again?
This failed shot is a result of me scrambling to find my phone to snap a shot of the doods golfing! Srsly, there was hail and snow and rain. Then, I see a golf cart on a fairway, trying to steal a last few strokes before the season ends. Knowing what is next, I assume these gluttons for punishment may have picked up their balls.
Then, it drops the last 4 degrees to to freezing. This could get messy. The rain on the road can easily turn to ice as there is no salt on them this early in the season. Still speeding, but safely so.
Maybe a spoiler but I made it home in one piece. The ghosts are still up and there looks to be some accumulation overnight. These leaves will fly the coop soon and this shot will show more white in the months to come.
As I complete the last chore of the night before D&D, I actually have to sweep the snow off the windows. I am not going to be a happy camper in the morning if I have to shovel on November 2nd!
