My Actifit Report Card: August 29 2019

Continuing the trend of doing the previous day when I finally post these updates, I’ve got to say that I was pretty okay with yesterday overall.

I had a lot of classwork to do, and I got it all done. I’ve found that the reading takes longer than I’m used to, or at least that it feels longer than I’ve been accustomed to. I got some of it done yesterday when I took the car back into the shop, so that’s kind of okay. I will say that even though I didn’t have a good impression of the Ishiguro book that I’ve been reading (which is unusual, because generally I find that I love the start of Ishiguro’s books and then they pick up later), I wound up coming to enjoy it quite a bit more later. I can appreciate why he did what he did, at least, even if I wouldn’t do it that way.

I’ve been ramping up prep for my Degenesis campaigns. Starting Monday I’ll be running two campaigns of Degenesis, and I’m not going to recycle stuff from one for the other. Fortunately, I’m pretty savvy as a GM and I’ve got a lot of experience with Degenesis. Unfortunately, I’ve been procrastinating getting my prep done for the Monday game, which will actually be a stream, and I’m going to have to get in high gear with getting ready, especially since I have to describe Degenesis for the general audience as well as (perhaps) some of my co-players.

It’ll also be fun because I’ll be teasing some of the content from the upcoming Justitian books, though not very much of it because as much as I love Degenesis I often like to give myself some liberty in the spaces I go to in my games.

I’ve kind of hit a wall in Stranger Things. I want to keep watching, I just haven’t had time. The pacing of Season 3 is definitely slower and I’ve been less inclined to invest in it until things calm down a little.
