ATP Tour - Dubai - Busta vs Tsitsipas

This match was the penultimate match today. The Spanish Pablo Carreño Busta met up with the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, one of my favorite tennis player, with a great future ahead of him. This time I knew both of the players, I've seen them playing before but not against each other.

I was prepared to watch a tough match that takes four hours but to my surprise it wasn't the case. The match took less than two hours.

The first set was excellent, I can't complain. Both players were very good, gave everything they had to win but Tsitsipas was better and won the first set to 7 - 6 in a tie break. It was high quality tennis with a lot of tricks, a real spectacle.

Then something happened as Busta's game got worse. Somehow he could not keep up with his opponent. The second set lasted about half the time as the second and Busta lost to 1 - 6.

This result clearly shows Tsitsipas's value. He's only 21 years old and he's coming from a country where tennis is not so popular but at this young age he's very disciplined, which is a huge advantage. Pablo Carreño Busta on the other hand is 28, more experienced but today wasn't his day.

The other match was between Bautista and Struff and took one hour and 50 minutes. I was expecting Bautista to win as I only knew his, Struff I didn't but it looks like I need to remember his name as he was way better today. He won to 7 - 6, 7 - 5. It was an intense match but a very good one.

Marin Čilić unfortunately lost the match against the French Benoît Paire. Fabio Fognini also lost to Dan Evans. This is bad news as I was expecting both to win.
