ATP Tour - Dubai - Djokovic vs Tsitsipas

Today took place the final match of the ATP tournament in Dubai. The best two got to play, obviously and who other than Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Yesterday while Novak Djokovic was playing with Monfils, I was thinking if Monfils managed to beat Djokovic, he gets to play with Tsitsipas today but that did not happen. I still believe Monfils could have won if he wouldn't have been injured. It is what it is , that was yesterday, today is a new day with different players.

The match wasn't as tough as I expected to be. I wanted to see a three set mach but that didn't happen. The first set started out well, they were both good, shooting very well, at the beginning I'd say Tsitispas was even better than Djokovic. They both tried to use tricks with more or less success.

Djokovic won the first set to 6 - 3 and the second set looked like it's not going to be the decisive one but then everything changed. Tsitsipas started to lose, point after point till Djokovic won the second set as well.

Deep down I knew this is going to happen as these two are good but not at the same level. Those ten years of experience that Djokovic has counts. The Greek still has time to win more tournaments as he's only 21 years old.

There were some interesting moments yesterday and today as well. Yesterday Djokovic's shoe lace got torn. This is highly unusual as those shoe laces are made of synthetic material and you can imagine at that level no one is showing up with used shoe laces. He got a few minute break to take care of the problem, so he set down, took out a pair of Asics from his tote bag and changed the right shoe. Imagine if he would have had to change the laces, it would have taken him 5 minutes.

The other strange thing happened today, at the beginning of the match, when Tsitsipas reported to the umpire that the camera behind him is too loud. The umpire lady got down from his chair, went to check it out and indeed, she agreed that it's too loud and asked the officials to do something about it.

Yesterday a loud spectator had to be removed after making such a noise that probably made Monfils lose the match.

There's going to be tennis in March too, so I'm looking forward to catch some of these events and watch my favorites playing. None of these events are affected (at the moment) by the coronavirus outbreak, except for the one in Cagliari, Italy. Thar is risky as Italy is pretty badly affected at the moment.
