Nadal Can Be Funny Sometimes
If you ask a tennis man about who is the best tennis player according to him, he would thing me, who else, but he would obviously pick someone else as it's not nice to nominate himself.
Rafael Nadal has been asked recently about who he thinks is the perfect tennis player and his answer was pretty funny. He's been no. 1 last year but now with the Australian Open, where he got beaten by Dominic Thiem, he's no. 2 now.
So Nadal didn't nominate anyone specifically but he put together a brand new tennis player (who doesn't exist by the way) using what is the best in the existing tennis players. He named Djokovic, who's no 1 at the moment, Federer, no 3, Ivo Karlovic, Dominic Thiem, Gael Monfils, Andy Murray and David Ferrer. It's an interesting answer and a good one.
I'm curious to see what's going to happen at the French Open as Federer is not going to be there as he just had knee surgery and it will take some time to recover. He'll be returning in June. Djokovic is in perfect shape, so I'm guessing he's going to do everything to win. Nadal must restore his confidence, swallow his pride and try to get his no 1 position back.
There will be some new guys trying to win, which will make the tournament more interesting. I'm expecting Dominic Thiem to do his best and beat both Nadal and Djokovik.
Simona Halep managed to beat Arina Sabelanke from Belarus today and she's qualified for the semifinals in Dubai. She's going to play against Jennifer Brady.
