Win Some, Lose Some

Life is not a bed of roses, you win some, lose some, then win again and lose again, that's how it works. That's the situation in any sport actually. There are times when you're on top, other times you lose even though you did your best.

Simona Halep is one of the tennis players that is always fluctuating, she has very good days when she can beat anyone, then she gets beaten by someone with half of her experience.

Today however was a good day for her in Dubai. She met with the Kazakh Elena Rybakina, who's world No. 19 at the moment. Judging from her opponent ranking one would day easy peasy but that wasn't the case today. Simona Halep won the match and the tournament but Elena Rybakina made her work for the victory.

The first set ended with Halep losing to 3 - 6. It's not surprising, it happens a lot with her and Elena Rybakina was better. I believe Halep had to find the rhythm, and she did as the second set ended with her winning to 6 - 3. She has managed to turn the situation around.

The third set was a spicy one. Elena Rybakina seemed to be better again and there was a real possibility Halep would lose again. However, stress is a factor here that can make of break you. Elena Rybakina is 20 years old and obviously have less experience than Halep, who's used toplaying under pressure and that showed today. In the tiebreak she knew exactly what to do to win.

Elena Rybakina is a talented player, I believe she has a lot to learn and very soon she's going to be among the best ones. I'm glad Halep won today, she deserved it, honestly.

Tomorrow there's the boys turn to amaze us. There are a bunch of good players participating. Tomorrow Djokovic is playing against Jaziri, I'm expecting him to win, he has no choice. The Hungarian Fucsovics will be meeting with Monfils. I can't anticipate the outcome, I guess we'll see. On Tuesday The Greek Tsitsipas will be playing against the Spanish Busta. Both are good but I want Tsitsipas to win.
