Johanna Konta advances to US Open second round

British No. 1 tennis player, Johanna Konta has advanced to the second round of the US Open tournament after handing a 6-1 4-6 6-2 win over former top-10 Wimbledon player, Daria Kasatkina.

The 27-year-old who is fresh off the back of a run to the semi-finals of the French Open is bidding for a third consecutive deep run at a Grand Slam and she just kickstarted her campaign with this win despite her almost flunking out at the start of the game.

My Thoughts.

I think this year's US Open will be filled with many surprises and we just started seeing it play out.

There is more to come and also i have been following the games closely and I am sure it will be one very entertaining tournament.
