Summary

Scott Jurek is an ultramarathoner. They don't come to this sport right away. In general, we can say that this is not a sport, but a philosophy, a perception of the world and oneself in it. Jurek's philosophy can be summed up as "do not harm nature, live in harmony with it and constantly strive for more". And you will feel it in every line of his book “Eat and run. The incredible story of a vegan ultramarathoner”.

This book - an unusual story about his life, step by step brought Scott to an increasingly difficult test - from childhood to the present day.

This is a statement of the mental picture of the world of the ultramarathoner, for whom running is a way of life. It is impossible to spend so much time on the move without an inner core - to live just like that.

Surprisingly, Scott at his huge loads - vegan, that is eats only natural products of exclusively vegetable origin. As you can see, his veganism has nothing to do with the simple fashion for vegetarianism: he is a doctor and closely monitors his health and results, which have improved after the exclusion of animal products from the diet.

Impressions of the book

I enjoyed reading this book. Scott Jurek is an American with Polish roots who runs an ultramarathon. He switched to a vegetarian diet and became a vegan, ie does not eat any animal products. He found that a vegan diet recovers quickly after heavy loads. In addition, you can find 25 recipes in the book.

The real source of motivation for everyone who wants to run more and better, eat right, and in general - to live consciously.
