Westbrom has officially signed Branislav Ivanovic from Zenit saint Petersburg on a free transfer deal after a 3.5 years spent with the club, he was a reliable player for Zenith but due to his age he was not offered a new contract that's why he has to left the team for free but the newly promoted Westbrom took their chance by going after him to reinforce their team following the 3-0 loss to Leicester City in the week one of the English premier league game. Also they need to get more players in order to stay away from relegation and signing ivanovic was a good choice.
It's another good addition for the team to have an experience defender with the club. Ivanovic has previously spent 9 years with Chelsea football club where he made 377 appearances for chelsea in all competitions, he also won several trophies with chelsea winning the Premier League and FA Cup three times, Champions League and Europa League before he left the team.
He served Chelsea during his nine years spell and he really and supports Chelsea by winning many trophies, he was also one of the best defender for Chelsea and also for Zenith Saint Petersburg
I know with Ivanovic joing the team it will add more experience to their players and I am so sure he will have a vital role to play, he will also be wearing the no. 20 jersey for Westbrom.
