Every NFL fan has got their own ideas about what attributes are most important for a good quarterback to have. Do you value football IQ over athleticism? Pocket passing or mobility? Game manager or gunslinger? A great quarterback probably needs to pretty good in all of those areas. I thought it would be fun to share my list of the NFL's top forty-two quarterbacks.

Sports media nowadays is purely out for profit and clicks. It's ridiculous. NFL analysts are so skewed by what gets them the most clicks and the most money that their opinions end up sounding completely absurd.

I'm not about to claim that my rankings are more accurate than other people's. Ranking quarterbacks is not exactly rocket science and there are only so players to pick from anyway. But I will try my best to not be influenced by mainstream media.

I have my complete list already done and I will be spreading out my list throughout a series of posts. I used my own criteria and my own opinions to create my list.

#4 - Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees is getting older, and while his arm strength and overall athleticism is slowing down a bit, he makes up for it with IQ, leadership, experience and accuracy. He is still a formidable player.

He has got accolades for days and with the weapons and teammates around him he and his team are still very much a Championship threat.

When you combine the fact that he was injured last season, and all the Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston talk, a part of me seriously wonders if Drew Brees and the Saints are playing mental warfare on opponents in an attempt to lull them to sleep and not expect a sharp Drew.

Despite only playing in only eleven games in 2019, Drew Brees still showed that he is a highly productive quarterback.

I have really got not much else to say. Drew Brees is an iconic quarterback who performs at an elite level. I still think he needs better players that are healthy. The only receiver he has is Michael Thomas in my opinion. Alvin Kamara is good in the receiving and rushing department but he's not a true receiver and he was banged up last season. Taysom Hill is nifty, but kind of a weird player. While the defense is pretty good in New Orleans, I believe it's for sure overrated.

I can't help but feel like he needs a little help, like a legit piece or two away. If they can put it all together, we will see how far they can go. I get weird vibes when it comes to their Championship potential. They need help or like another player to step up.

#3 - Russell Wilson - Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson has really proven himself. While some people maybe thought he was overrated for a time, I believe in the past couple seasons he has proven to be a lethal force in this league. All this guy does is win and compete. There isn't anything this guy can't do. He doesn't have a straight up jaw dropping rocket of an arm, but he definitely has a strong arm. He's accurate super athletic and super quick. He's a leader and he's intelligent.

He is a quarterback any team in the NFL would want to have. If Seattle is smart they will never ever let this man leave Seattle. Once Brady retires, whenever that actually happens I believe it will be Mahomes and Wilson's league.

Wilson reminds me of a mobile Peyton Manning. It's high praise but I believe Wilson deserves it. The guy has not missed a single start in his eight year career. Durability has never been an issue with Wilson because he can literally be a pocket passer and a mobile guy and do it equally well. I know durability is not a skill but at the same time it kind of is. The man knows how to protect his body unlike a lot of mobile quarterbacks and honestly quarterbacks in general. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you can't prove it on the field it's irrelevant.

On top of his durability, he has never led the Seahawks to less than a 9 win season and he's only had one of those seasons. Otherwise he's won a minimum 10 wins ever season. To be even more exact the Wilson era Seahawks have won an average of 10.75 wins a season in the past 8 seasons. Very impressive!

The Seahawks will probably always be a problem as long as Wilson is around.
