G'day.

Saturday morning shift: Water Treatment Plant, because I'm on call

(The on-call operator checks the plant and does the critical daily jobs on the weekend)

In the afternoon I went for a bike ride around the Sturt Reserve

My bike has been in the shop for a few weeks getting serviced

It's running pretty sweet now, but I'm rusty as hell, as I found out

I came off twice, ran into a tree once, and came very, very close to coming off a third time

No major injuries though. Just a bit achey the next day. My problem was going a bit fast around a couple of corners

The second crash was pretty funny in retrospect

I bounced

I also saw some ants crowded around, eating a green lolly. What a highlight!

I knelt down for a closer look

This was after picking myself up off the ground from my second crash.

All the ants scrambled away as I got close, except one

This brave (or oblivious) soul I now call Gerry, in honour of a bloke I work with
