The Panther is a relative to the Cat's Paw bag, a design I sold to Wham-O back in the day. A lot of people who worked for Wham-O back then were freestyle frisbee guys and one of them contacted me at a footbag tournament in the Bay Area of California in the mid 90s. It was a dream come true to get a deal with Wham-O. This is an old Panther I have still in the packaging.

The design is a modified eight-panel sphere where each of the flat panels is turned into a three-dimensional pyramid-shaped pouch. All eight pouches are then connected in the center. As it says on the back of the package: "The HACKY SACK® Panther design by world champ Allan Petersen features an entirely new structure for footbags -- the cat paw. It looks cool and plays great! The Panther is hand-stitched with world-class materials for maximum performance." Of course, when they say each bag was hand sewn, it wasn't by me!
