Hello everyone

Communities feature is beginning to roll out on both @Steempeak and Steemit so I want to invite every skater and skater-lover on Steem to join our #skateboarding community called @Steemskate.

The pros of having an official @Steemskate community are numerous. I will be explaining everything in a detailed post from the official @steemskate account the next few days so stay tuned.
For now I am just gonna show you step by step how to join our skateboarding community.

How to join

Head over to Steemit.com. You will see that a new feature has been added bellow the Steemit logo at the top left corner of your screen which is "Communities"

Now since the communities have just begin to roll out on Steemit.com, I'll make your life easier and I am gonna leave the @steemskate's community link bellow so you won't have to search for it :

STEEMSKATE COMMUNITY

All you have to do is hit the Subscribe button

and Voilà, you just joined the world's most innovating and true to skateboarding community! So easy.

After subscribing, you can start posting skateboarding content using the community's page just like you did with Steemit.com.
I am posting this one using our community page and it's quit simple. Just go to your Steemit profile and click on the "communities" tab

A list with the communities you have already subscribed will pop up. In our case, click on the "Steemskate Community" and you will be re-directed to our page.

Quite simple right? The only thing that's left now is to hit the "New Post" button

Write your blog post or post your youtube/Dtube link just like you did with Steemit.com. This is still Steemit.com but we are posting though our community feature.

If you start exploring the @steemskate community, you can see that things look different than Steemit.com.
There is a counting tool for Subscribers, Rewards and Active posters. This makes it easier to track what's happening to the community since everything is displayed in numbers.

If you roll your mouse to the bottom of our community's page, you'll see that there are also a couple of "rules" to keep things running smooth!

That pretty much sums up how you can join us. As I mentioned above, there will be a post from the official @steemskate account in the next few days explaining what communities on Steem are, why are they important and how to utilize our community as skateboarders. I highly suggest you start scrolling around Steemit and read blogs or watch videos explaining how things work on communities to have a better insight. And of course, start sharing your skate posts though our community!
