Following the rules in maize farming || My Actifit Report Card: July 6 2020

Add NPK and compost manure after two weeks.

Maize farming yields very well if you follow the dynamics. It’s ideal to add fertilizer or chicken manure to maize after two weeks of planting.

Adding these manure helps them to pick up on time, corn is one funny plant in that it doesn’t wait for the farmer, once it’s two months and some weeks, the corn must reproduce irrespective of its condition. If it’s not well taken care of, then it means that you may found nothing inside the heads at the end of the day.

For us that do this as business, we’re much prudent in following the rules.

We ordered for 50 bags of chicken compost for our maize farm. And we brought some to our house today to make it easier to be taken to the farm tomorrow.

We buy from poultry farms around us.
We also purchased bags of NPK fertilizer to augment the chicken refuse.

Tomorrow we shall see how far it will go again in the farm of about 16 plots of land.

Thanks for coming around.

Stay safe

16 plots of land? all for maize plantation?
Well we plant little here for consumption and we don't apply any manure to it.

Yes, that’s a hectare of land, we’re looking at expanding it by next year if God will.

Thanks for coming around.

I’m still learning how to. If it works as planned, then we will expand our farming from next year. There’s this training that I’m also participating on greenhouse farming.

I’m looking at breaking the barriers of planting only in rainy season. Better if I could produce farm crops at all season.

That would be awesome. Is your temperature and climate conducive to year round farming?
