The results of the fifth matchday of the League A Group 1 of the UEFA Nations League.

Italy opens the opportunity to qualify for the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League semi-finals. In the fifth match of Group A1, Gli Azzurri managed to overthrow Poland 2-0. At the Mapei Stadium Italy got the first chance in the 6th minute through Andrea Belotti, but the Torino attacker's shot was still soaring.

A minute later, Federico Bernardeschi fired a shot from distance, but Poland goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny managed to block it. Italy was awarded a penalty in the 26th minute, following a Grzegorz Krychowiak foul who pulled Belotti's shirt in the forbidden box. Jorginho advanced as a kicker, and successfully beat Szczesny. Gli Azzurri lead 1-0.

Winning one goal, Italy continues to try to press. Belotti had another chance after receiving Lorenzo Insigne's pass in the 35th minute, but his volley still shot up. During the first half injury time, it was Francesco Acerbi's header that failed to produce a goal. The first half ended 1-0 for Italy.

In the second half, Poland could not escape from the pressure. Nicolo Barella threatened Szczesny's goal in the 49th minute, but his shot was still off target. Ten minutes later, Insigne's long-range shot was easily secured by Szczesny. In the 66th minute, Domenico Berardi also had a chance, but his shot was fruitless.

Disasters present for Poland in the 77th minute. Jacek Goralski, who previously received a yellow card in the 62nd minute for violating Belotti, received a second yellow card again, again for violating Belotti. Poland also had to play with 10 people.

Superior number of players, Italy continues to attack. As a result, they added another goal in the 83rd minute. Receiving a breakthrough pass from Insigne, Berardi scored at his team's own stadium, Sassuolo. He fired a left footed shot and managed to beat Szczesny.

In the remaining matches, both teams were unable to score goals. Italy closed the match with a 2-0 win. This achievement led Italy to the top of Group A1 with 9 points from 5 matches and increased their chances of qualifying for the semifinals. Meanwhile, Poland fell to third place with 7 points.

Netherlands vs Bosnia & Herzegovina 3-1

The Netherlands managed to beat Bosnia & Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League match. They won 3-1 with Georginio Wijnaldum contributing two goals. The Netherlands host Bosnia & Herzegovina at the Johan Cruyff Arena on the fifth matchday of the UEFA Nations League Group A Group 1. The host immediately took the lead in the 6th minute.

Dutch build attack very well. The ball that was originally on the left side is flown to the right side through a short bait game. The ball meets Denzel Dumfries who overlaps. The Dutch right-back then released a pull bait. Georginio Wijnaldum, who appeared from behind, snatched the ball to rattle the Bosnian net. Netherlands winning 1-0. Wijnaldum was again a nightmare for the visitors by scoring his second goal in this match in the 13th minute. This goal came from Memphis Depay's cross from the left side.

Steven Berghuis who was standing at the far post headed the ball in front of the goal. Wijnaldum stood in the right position to cheat the ball to give the Netherlands a 2-0 lead. The Bosnian goalkeeper shook again in the 28th minute due to Luuk de Jong's shot utilizing a ball from Berghuis. However, the referee annulled this goal after reviewing the VAR because De Jong was in an offside position. Score 2-0 for the Dutch 2-0 advantage lasted until halftime. After the interval the Dutch did not relax their attacks.

De Oranje managed to get away 3-0 in the 55th minute. Memphis Depay got his name on the scoreboard. Depay, who was standing in front of the goal, effortlessly completed a horizontal pass from Dumfries that pierced the left side of the Bosnian defense. Behind three goals. Bosnia is trying to get up. Their efforts paid off in the 63rd minute.

Edin Visca initiates Bosnia's quick counterattack. He worked with Darko Todorovic on the right to penetrate the Dutch defense. He then released a measured pass in front of the goal. Substitute player, Smail Prevljak, who was not guarded, was able to beat the Krus Team to dilute Bosnia's advantage. But in the remaining time, Bosnia failed to add a goal. Score 3-1 for Dutch superiority lasted until the game was complete.
