AFL finals - we’re down to the final 4!

After a long and tight season, we’re finally down to the final 4 teams in the AFL 2019 premiership race. In the two games played over the weekend, we had two thrilling battles that were closely fought.

After leading at the final change, the Geelong Cats ran over the top of last year’s premiers, the West Coast Eagles. The Cats started well, but the Eagles had creeped their way back into the match, until they were outplayed in the last quarter.

In Brisbane, we had an even closer match, with the GWS Giants triumphing by less than a goal. The Brisbane Lions who had surpassed every expectation this season to finish second in the regular season couldn’t carry on their form in the finals, and got pipped in the final minutes by a powerful Giants teamm.

So now we’re down to the final four. This weekend, the Geelong Cats will play the Richmond Tigers, and the Collingwood Magpies will face off against the GWS Giants to decide who will play off in the grand-final of the 2019 season.

Who do you think will take out this year’s premiership? I’m hoping that the Cats and Giants will playoff in the grand-final, with Geelong ultimately winning the premiership.
