A small town girl is now a star. Hima Das created history after becoming the first from India win a gold medal in the track event of a world championships.

From a Lower middle class family of parents working as farmers, she used to run barefoot in the muddy fields and on the roads of Dhing, a small village in Assam ,India. Now she is getting her named inked on Adidas shoes, which will be custom made.
she never left her passion and was supported by family to become a world class athlete. It makes me immense proud that hard work is getting recognized. It shows when one is determined they can overcome all obstacles. she was even awarded with Arjuna awards by the president himself.
She is such a inspiration to all of us. Hope to see many young talents into limelight soon.
