My Actifit Report Card and Update: May 11 2021

Hi Everyone,

I'm back with this week's Actifit Report and Update. I've had another reasonably uneventful week in terms of counts and activity. It was just the usual walk around the lake with Mango the dog on most days. Yesterday, I also picked up some groceries but that was just a short walk.

My Content

Since my previous report, I have only posted once but this post involved a lot of work. I built a new Buying and Selling Game Model and created an alternative version of my Buying and Selling Game. I present the new version of the game in a video as well as in the text within the post.

The new version is called the business version as it involves a basic simulation of running a business. The participant will have a choice of producing or buying three types of goods. The participant will then need to set the price of the goods. The model generates the demand for each good based on a triangle distribution, which is also adjusted for customers diminishing marginal utility. The demand will determine the quantity the participant sells of each good. The objective of the game is to make the highest profit.

I intend to run the first contest of this type within the next week. This new version will not replace the existing contest but instead will be run in alternate months (i.e. May, July, September, etc). The contest should be fun. The prize will remain at 30 Hive and the first 12 participants will receive upvotes for just entering. It is likely everyone will win at least some Hive, unless the contest has a great turnout.

That wraps up this Actifit Report and Update. I'm about to take Mango for his walk now as we will get caught in the rain if I leave it for later. He doesn't like getting wet.
