Twins prospect Ryan Costello found dead in New Zealand hotel room at age 23

The Minnesota Twins organization was hit with very bad news.

One of their prospects was found dead in his hotel room.

Ryan Costello was 23 years old.  He was in New Zealand to play in some exhibition games.  A preliminary report says he died of natural causes.

He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners out of UConn in the 31st round. He later was traded to the Twins in the Zack Duke deal.

It is always a tragedy when someone with so much to live for turns up dead.
