Wrestlefest 5 - Flemish Wrestling Force

Today the 5th edition of Wrestlefest took place. It's an event taking place in the city I live in, organised by the Flemish Wrestling Force. With the first edition I didn't know about it, but for the 2nd or 3rd edition I did find out and let two of my cousins know. They were interested as well and we attended the event then. We decided to make it a yearly thing. Although today I had a message from my cousin that they'd have to skip this year which they seemed disappointed about. I was also a bit disappointed as I had been looking forward to hang out with them and go to the event together. As it is in my city and I already planned to go I decided to still go anyway.

There were lots of different matches. A tag team match, a free for all with 3, just regular matches and a 6-man tag team match where two teams had 3 members each.

At this event there are some Belgian people entering but also several international people. Today there were wrestlers from Netherlands, Germany, France, Ireland and England. Some of them I've seen at previous editions and some of them were new faces.

During the matches the wrestlers would sometimes go out of the ring too. If all of them were out of the ring they would sometimes continue their match for a bit there before one would throw another back in the ring or one would enter the ring again waiting for the other to get up and back in the ring too. I took one picture when some were outside of the ring.

Starting this new year there is also a new title that can be earned. The Flemish Wrestling Force Women title, or FWF Women for short. There are usually several women participating in 1v1 matches or tag team matches, such as our Belgian Jungle Jill. So the organisers have been trying to add a women's belt as well. Today 5 women would be competing for this belt in a knock-out kind of match. So two would be matched up and then the winner stays in the ring and the next contestant comes to the ring.

Katey Harvey from Ireland ended up winning this belt. She's been to the event two years ago as well and participated in a tag team match then. I took a picture when she was showing the belt after winning.

It was once again a great edition and It's always quite the spectacle! I'm glad I decided to still go to the event.

Very cool.
Here in Germany, someone who is known via Youtube has founded his own league and they recently had a big event. You are welcome to have a look there if you are interested.

Haven't looked at it completely yet, but the beginning was already very successful.

Hey, yeah that ring is definitely undersized compared to the rings at big events. I think it's because this is a rather small event that they're not able to place a bigger ring there.
