My Steem Journey : My Five Month Experience with Steem

My 3000+ word post for this was not saved after my computer hung, I have to rewrite again to publish my journey :(.

After joining the platform last June 2019, around six months now I've been very active with the blockchain but I merely focused with a tribe name Sportstalk and it has always been the tribe I have been very focused. With my five month experience, I was able to accumulate 1.6 million Sports Power both from my earnings and investment. I also sold some of my Sports earnings to convert them into Steem Power, a thing I realized lately.

Thanks to the constant communication from @steemitblog where they post series of great updates with SMTs and what the team has been doing. The recent success of Steemfest too have been a great motivation for me to believe in Steem again that's why now, I'm trying to put my eggs into different baskets which is I am powering up my post earnings and converting some Sports into Steem then power up.

My journey with Sportstalk has been great - extremely great. When this tribe started, I was one of the users who saw its potential to lead the tribes in Steem Engine. I discovered Sportstalk after searching in google about earning cryptocurrency in Sportstalk and upon scrolling some links, I found Sportstalksocial.

The platform was launched a few weeks since I joined and I think I was lucky that time to be one of its early adopters. I didn't invest that time but I was earnings lots of thousands of Sports tokens. Back when time top users have vote values around 20,000 - 50,000 per vote value. I was happy to get thousands of Sports that time without even investing.

Then I realized I need to take advantage of the early adoption. So I invested hard in Sportstalk purchasing 200,000+ Sports Power despite of its huge price (compared to now where 100,000 Sports is worth around 85 Steem only). So then, what do you expect - I did horrible things to get my ROI as soon as possible.

Though i was able to almost reach ROI with the things I do (spams / plagiarism / multiple posts a day), I was attacked by concerned whales. It was at that time that abuse, spams, and plagiarisms are rampant in Sportstalk. Then I was able to realize I need to change the ways that I do for a better platform.

Then that was the time I posted contents with effort. I invested my earnings and I invested from my pocket, a reason that I got 1.6 million Sports Power now. Guess what, I also have almost 6,000 in Steem Power. I realized also that I need to put my eggs into different baskets. Right now, I choose two - Steem and Sports.

With the new opportunities arising under the #newsteem tag, I noticed that there's a lot of curating accounts focused on rewarding great contents here. So I'm trying to create some post with much effort. I can't consider my writings superb because I'm no good with grammars, I just let my ideas out with little attention to grammar and proofread. I literally missed a lot of Dapps namely - Splinterlands, Steemhunt, Esteem, Drugwars, palnet, steemleo, etc. So I will be waiting patiently with new rising applications that can reward users.

SMTs are what I am keenly waiting and also the Communities under hivemind. I believe this will be a great opportunity to wait and become one of its early users. I'm still not losing hope as long as others have the same mindset as me especially the big guns out there. With my investment being minimal, I doubt my rewards will be able to generate good here so I'm trying to find a way to get support with the content I create without forcing someone.
