So, ich bin zurück aus München – und ich freue mich auf mein verlängertes Wochenende! Ich habe mir nämlich tatsächlich den Freitag freigenommen. Morgen ist in Deutschland Feiertag, und ich glaube, das wird mir richtig guttun. Am Montag starte ich dann wieder mit neuer Energie in die Arbeit.

Schrittetechnisch kam heute natürlich alles vom Heimweg der Dienstreise zusammen – ein kleines bisschen mehr als 7000 Schritte sind es geworden. Dafür, dass ich heute insgesamt rund fünf Stunden im Zug saß, ist das eigentlich ganz okay. Es gab definitiv schon schlimmere Tage.

Ich war dann auch noch einkaufen – und ja, wegen des Feiertags morgen war ich natürlich nicht der Einzige mit der Idee. Ich dachte, wenn ich um halb zehn einkaufen gehe, ist der Laden leer. Turns out: war er nicht. Drei Kassen waren geöffnet und trotzdem hat man 10 Minuten anstehen müssen.

Irgendwie fällt allen kurz vor dem Feiertag ein, dass man ja nochmal einkaufen gehen könnte. Man könnte jetzt natürlich sagen, mich betrifft das ja genauso. Aber ich war ja unterwegs – und hätte ich vorher eingekauft, wären die Lebensmittel verdorben. Also rede ich mich einfach mal elegant raus und behaupte, ich wäre eigentlich viel cleverer gewesen 😄

Spaß beiseite: Ich bin wirklich jemand, der Einkaufen so weit wie möglich herauszögert. Ich hoffe, dass es irgendwann wirtschaftlich und ökologisch sinnvoll möglich ist, sich Einkäufe nach Hause liefern zu lassen – dann bin ich ehrlich: Das wäre mir auch eine Liefergebühr wert. Ich hasse Einkaufen über alles.

So, I’m back from Munich—and looking forward to my long weekend! I actually took Friday off. Tomorrow’s a public holiday here in Germany, and I think the break will do me good. On Monday, I’ll be ready to jump back into work with fresh energy.

Step-wise, today’s movement came entirely from the return leg of my business trip—just a little over 7,000 steps. Considering I spent about five hours on the train, I’d say that’s totally fine. I’ve definitely had worse days.

I also went grocery shopping—because tomorrow’s a holiday, of course, I wasn’t the only one with that idea. I figured the store would be empty around 9:30 a.m. Turns out… nope. Three checkout lines were open, and I still had to wait 10 minutes.

Seems like everyone remembers to shop right before a holiday. I mean, yes, I’m part of that too. But hey—I was traveling, and if I had bought food earlier, it would’ve spoiled. So I’m going to pretend I was actually being super clever 😄

Joking aside: I’m the kind of person who puts off shopping as long as possible. I really hope that one day it becomes economically and ecologically viable for groceries to be delivered to everyone’s doorstep. And honestly, I’d happily pay a delivery fee. I hate grocery shopping more than anything.

Einen Tag vor Feiertagen einkaufen ist immer totlich. Das versuchen wir immer zu vermeiden. Die Leute kaufen wie bekloppt als wenn es keine Lebensmittel mehr gäbe nach dem Feiertag.

Those train rides sound draining 😅 Over here in the UK we’ve had grocery delivery for a while it’s truly a life saver, so convenient just doing an online shop once a week and it arrives straight to the door 😅
