Jogging

Today was day three for me feeding in some jogging from time to time during our walk. I didn't dress up for it apart from trainers and a proper sports bra to keep things in place.. 😄

I have a dodgy knee so have to be fairly careful to not to try too hard too quickly and at the moment I feel quiet good about how it's going - no pain so far.

I can't do anything to intense anyhow as it's Mia's outing too, and she obviously loves to stop and sniff, but should I get to a point where I can run through, I'd jog on the spot when she does stop - null problemo!

The water is now pretty much gone, a few bigger puddles still around though.

We were happy that it was dry this morning, as lunchtime was a different story, it rained quite strongly. That, however, gave me time for something else to work on...

Showcase Duets

@steve-o2023 and I have recently been asked if we would like to be the featured artists of one of the regular Open Mics we go to, after our duets seemed to go down rather nicely.. Well, of course we do! What an honour and how exciting!

So, rainy days and Fridays gave me an opportunity to practice all those lyrics and chords for some of the songs that I will be playing on. Hope, I'll get them in my little head beforehand, I am not getting nervous... yet... 😄

Posting

I have started thinking about creating a nice looking footer for my posts; there are some fine examples out there, but as I am no designer it will be some time yet for anything to change and when it does it will most likely be work in progress. All in good time.

That's it for today, thanks for looking!

Wasn't I just saying you two needed to do some gigs? I'll get there if I can.

Well done with the jogging @anna-newkey and take it easy on the knees. I find the squats help to built strength in the knees. I suffer knee problems sometimes but find the key is in the posture when I run. not to lock the knees out and ensure they are always bent a bit. And to build strength in them.

Great effort - enjoy the rest of your weekend

Thank you, excellent points! That's true with the strength. I've started doing planks again, but I'll do some squats as well, great idea!
I also stretch my ham strings on a chair for example, it totally eases any slight pain.
Have a great Sunday! Hope it's not so grey where you are.. 🙄

I find strength in my legs and core is vital for a good run and I spend at least 15 min warming up before going out and usually more like 30 mins for things like Parkrun.

I find I need the warmup at my age 🤣
