January 4 2022 - First day back at work

A relatively quiet day for me as my first day back to work after the hols.

I woke up before work and did some gym workout on the rowing machine, completing over 30 min.

I did take a stroll around my area after work too. I can't really claim it was a walk.

I am pretty good at staying mobile whilst working from home. My standing desk helps me by keeping me standing and my Bluetooth headset allows me to walk around while talking.

I have never been able to just sit still.

Sofia - my company has an office there and I have one person in my team working from our Sofia office and am looking to expand my team there. I expect I will come later in the year,

Ah, ok. That's really interesting. I did my Bachelor's degree in Sofia and then I worked for a hedge fund there.

But now I live in my home town, a small city.

What is your company about? I mean in which industry sector it operates? (if I am allowed to ask). Just curious about why you've chosen Sofia.

We work in providing business solutions and business applications. Are main delivery offices are in UK, France and Germany. We used to support that with an offshore model out of India (which we still have but scaled back) and now have a strategy around using nearshore. Bulgaria works for us as we find talented resources at better rates. Also many can speak English and/or German which are our biggest market.

I will let you know, I haven't got any target dates yet but have started making plans for a visit. Coffee and crypto talk is always good.
