Hive Fpl : Gameweek 2

Gameweek 2 came and went in a flash, and now on Saturday (tomorrow) gameweek 3 will begin.

Last week I did the review of the matches before showing you how my team performed, but I realized everyone knows how the gameweek went so I'll just be showing you guys how my fpl team fared.

This week a lot of managers in the leagues I'm in had a better gameweek than last week, but overall the average was exactly the same as week one which was 57.

From the start (When Jesus hauled) I thought I'd better my last week score (59) which I complained about because it was just 2 digits above the average (57),but I ended up doing worse this week and finishing with 56 points

I've dropped down so bad in the league I don't even want to look at it. I'm looking at my team, and thinking of shuffling a bit, but then again I'm thinking it's not such a bad team.

I think my major problem may have been my captain. I was expecting Salah to turn up against his favorite opponents, but Salah and Liverpool were poor on the night and were only even able to snatch a draw thanks to a moment of magic from Luiz Diaz (a great differential pick in my opinion). Alexander Arnold who I was also expecting to turn up with an assist, or a Clean Sheet also disappointed.

I'm also in a bit of pain because I took out Cucurella for Matty Cash in the dying minutes as I thought he'd come off the bench or something like that.

My only saving grace was that I wasn't one of those impatient people who sold Jesus after gameweek 1 as he definitely made them pay for it with a 19 point haul. If only I'd captained him (fpl and regrets, lol).

Another person from my first draft hauled (at this point I may never stop revisiting it), Jensen of Brentford who got a goal an assist, Cleansheet, and all three bonus points to earn a total of 15 points in Brentford's demolition of Manchester United (A good watch by the way). He's on the bench in my draft, so who knows I may have left him there and been in even more pain than I'm in right now.

I stared at my team countless times, not sure what to do this gameweek. Initially I'd sold Mount in gameweek one looking to get haaland this week, but his price just keeps going up, and at this point it seems I'm just going to have to do without him. So I went for a cheaper forward, Brentford's Ivan Toney. Brentford has a relatively easy set of fixtures, and he's looked sharp this season bagging 17 points in the first two games. I also think his ownership will start to increase if he can keep up this form. He faces Fulham this week, and I think he can get one or two goal contributions.

I added my spare cash to Benteke who's no longer in the league in order to bring him in.

I relegated trippier who's done well for me these first two gameweeks to the bench as I think Man city are going to dominate that game and score. I brought in Cucurella as I think he has a chance to start against leeds and has more chances to perform than Trippier. Be it a clean sheet or attacking contributions.

I'm also going to be paying a close eye on Son these next gameweeks, he's quite expensive so if he doesn't perform I'll be selling him to get cheaper midfield options that'll perform. Options like Marinelli, Maddison Or I could even work some magic and bring in Debruyne.

I'm counting on Salah and Arnold to perform against Manchester United, who've been horrible this season. Liverpool themselves haven't really performed, but I see them beating Man U. I'd initially planned on captaining Salah against Man U, but I decided to try something different and go for Jesus.
