My Actifit Report Card: March 16 2026

A plane cuts the sky in two, but I'm too lazy to catch the camera. It looked kind of special, or maybe it just felt kind of special because it's unusual for me to be wide awake with the first sun beams enlightening the sky, breathing in the fresh summer air. Summer. We don't have summer here. But it tastes like summer. Summer in France. The morning chill, softly passing my skin in a slight breeze that will most likely disappear soon and make way for a merciless sun, blazing away everything that can't count on any shadow to shelter itself in. But not now. Not yet.

I slept for almost 9 hours. Deep. Yesterday I went to bed with hurting legs, exhausted from only 11k steps. It shouldn't be that way. A sour throat and the occasional cough were hints towards and underlying issue, so upon reflection I opted for finishing my writing, reading and language learning early to be in bed at 9. I don't think I lay awake much. I can't remember, which inevitably supports my case.

So I woke up at 5.30am. Opened the window. Felt the cold creep into the room immediately. Consequently, I curled up into bed again to sleep for another 30min, breathing in the cool, fresh air while enjoying the warmth beneath my blankets.

To shorten up the rest of the day - great work out in the morning, full of energy. My brother had brought a high quality coffee from Quito, so we enjoyed a cup of that before I went to the team meeting, which went great, too.

Lily came after school. It's still difficult the first day, but I think I'm getting better at handling her emotions. The psychologist said that kids "wear" their parents as a kind of shell when they stay days with them. The change to the other parent is difficult, especially when there's a lot of anger from one parent towards the other. And Lily's mom is notoriously angry at me, so it's something that Lily carries when she comes to me. It's usually only the first day, then it gets better. And I'm finding my way to deal with it without causing her to explode, but treating her with love, patience and kindness.

We're at the playground right now. I'm writing while walking. 9179 steps so far, probably be at the 10k when we're home again. Or more. Probably more. It's almost time to go back and start the routines. Maybe I can get to bed early today again. I really don't want to catch a cold.

In the end I reached over 14k - I had forgotten that I needed to do some shopping for the school tomorrow. Well, I got it all done. Time to sleep. Have a good night!
