A new adventure awaits, nature lovers! Today we're traveling to a small village in northern Portugal called Cabroelo, located in the city of Penafiel. We'll be completing a trail called "Dos Mós," a route along the main river of Cabroelo characterized by the watermills built to harness the river's current and produce food! This practice was used for many years and is now part of the town's heritage.🧭🌳
Se viene una nueva aventura amigos amantes de la naturaleza! hoy viaje a una pequena aldea al norte de Portugal llamada: Cabroelo que a su vez ubica en la ciudad de Penafiel, vamos a completar una sendero llamado: "dos mos" que es un recorrido al lado del rio principal de Cabroelo y que se caracteriza por la ubicacion de molinos de agua construido para aprovechar la corriente de dicho afluente y producer alimento! esta practica se uso por muchos anos y hoy en dia es patrimonio de la ciudad🏰🚩
The trail is well-organized and well-marked, ideal for all ages, and in my opinion, I recommend doing it with your children. It even has a lovely picnic area. Just be careful because winter in this area is very cold, and bring hiking boots as you could slip by the river. You can access it by vehicle; there's really no public transport here like in other parts of Portugal, so it's very remote and isolated.😍🏰
El sendero esta bien organizado y bien senalizado, ideal para todas las edades y a mi punta de vista te recomiendo hacerlo con tus hijos e inclusive tiene un area de picnic bien bonita, solo ten cuidado porque el invierno en esta zona es muy fria, y trae botas de excursion ya que al lado del rio podrias resbalarte; puedes acceder a el en vehiculo, en realidad aqui no hay transporte publico como en otros lados de Portugal asi que es muy remoto y aislado.⛺🗺️
The sign arriving in Cabroelo tells us we're entering an environmentally protected village, as it's considered part of a small reserve and, because of the river and the mills, it's important to preserve these structures. I'm surprised to see anyone here, especially since I was the only tourist around! And I liked it because it's relaxing.🚩🌳
El letrero llegando a Cabroelo nos indica que estamos entrando en una aldea protegida ambientalmente, ya que esta considerada dentro de una pequena reserva y por el tema del rio y los molinos es importante preservar estas estructuras, me sorprende ver alguien por aqui hasta porque fui el unico turista por estos lados! y me gusto porque es algo relajante.🌍🧭
There are three trails connected to the village of "Cabroelos", all very easy to complete and if you walk them all you will surely get to know the whole area, the river also runs through the village, and it has that medieval touch with its stone walls🚩🗺️
Hay tres senderos conectados a la aldea de "Cabroelos" todos muy facil de completar y si los recorres todos seguramente conoceras toda la zona, el rio corre tambien por la aldea, y tiene ese toque medieval con sus muros de piedra🏰🚩

The town of Penafiel has one of the largest Roman ruins on the Iberian Peninsula, which tells us that there was a lot of Roman activity between the 2nd and 4th centuries AD. This led to the construction of many Roman transport routes, and I have to highlight this about the village because we are standing exactly on a Roman street.🌍📍
La ciudad de Penafiel tiene una de las ruinas romanas mas grandes de la peninsula iberica, lo que nos dice que existio mucha actividad romana entre el siglo II y IV despues de Cristo, esto llevo a que se construyeran muchas rutas de transporte romano, y tengo que resaltar esto de la aldea porque estamos exactamente en una calle romana.🗺️🚩

We arrived at the area where we walk alongside the river, and this is undoubtedly the most beautiful part of the trail. We can explore and go off the path to take a picture, and there is also a small parking lot where we can leave the vehicle.🧭🗺️
Llegamos a la zona donde caminamos al lado del rio, y aqui es sin duda la parte mas hermosa del sendero, podemos explorar y salirnos del camino para tomarnos una foto y tambien hay un pequeno estacionamiento donde podemos dejar el vehiculo.🌍🌳⛺
Until now we have not mentioned the name of the river, which was named (Mau) Cabroelo is a preserved village that is located in the mountain (Boneca) at more than 300 meters high, we recommend that in the village you take a walk through the chapel (São Mateus), in September are the village festivals and they make many organic decorations in nature.🌍🗺️
Hasta ahora no mencionamos el nombre del rio, el cual fue bautizado como (Mau) Cabroelo es una aldea preservada que esta ubicada en la sierra (Boneca) a mas de 300 metros de altura, te recomendamos en la aldea dar un paseo por la capilla (São Mateus), en septiembre son las fiestas del pueblo y hacen muchas decoraciones organicas en la naturaleza.🧭🏔️

This is the famous watermill route. They are strategically located where the river has the strongest current. They were used to grind seeds, and it was a village tradition, which is why the culture has been preserved along this path. It's interesting how each one of them has its own name.🌍📍
Esta es la famosa ruta de los molinos de agua, estan localizados estrategicamente donde el rio tiene la mayor fuerza en su corriente, se utilizaron para moler semillas, y era tradicion de la aldea por eso se preservo la cultura en este sendero, es curioso como cada uno de ellos tiene su nombre🗺️🚩
