My legs hate me and I’m proud of it
There’s no shortcut to getting your health and weight back on track, and honestly, that’s a good thing. If it were easy, it’d mean nothing. So I’m going for the boring, average, non-glamorous path: daily walks, some heavier effort days, and a boatload of patience.
Today wasn’t average though.
Today was one of those days.
Kicked off with a 7km walk, not your lazy Sunday stroll, but one where I went into beast mode a few times. Threw in three short sprints, all-or-nothing style. My lungs screamed, my legs burned, and I loved every second. Why? Because discomfort is where momentum gets born.
Later in the day, I wasn’t done. Another 5km before dinner, just because I felt like reminding myself that progress is a choice, not a wish.
Made a proper, healthy dinner. No pizza, no excuses. Then off to the gym for about an hour to squeeze the last drops out of the tank.
Here’s the scoreboard:
• 15.122 steps
• 13.4 km walked
• 2.001 kcal burned
• 171 minutes of exercise logged
• 12 stand hours (because yes, I do sit too much normally)
But the real win? I didn’t negotiate with myself. I showed up.
I don’t expect every day to look like this, that’d be dumb and unsustainable. But I do expect more of these hefty days to raise the tide on the regular ones.
Sometimes, one does not simply walk through autumn.Sometimes, one walks through excuses.
