One Walk, A Thousand Frames
Let’s talk about rebellion. Not the leather-jacket kind—more like, “What if I don’t take the canal route today?” kind. That’s what happened this morning. The canal was doing its usual sleepy shimmer, but something told me to cross the bridge and see what the woods had to say.
Turns out, they were whispering magic. I’m talking dew-drenched mushrooms, frosted leaves clinging on like it’s still October, and trees doing their best ethereal glow-up under a low, golden sun. The kind of morning light that makes you want to narrate your walk like a nature doc.
And somehow in between lying flat on the ground for that perfect mushroom shot and just standing still breathing in the silence, I still clocked 13k steps. So yeah, one walk—but what a walk. Winter’s not officially here, but try telling that to my fingers or the icy fuzz on every leaf. Absolute vibe.

Yeah, the past few days it was between -3 and +3 celcius here. In wintertime it can even go down to -20 on a very bad day...

We're a bit warmer than you guys, on a very, very, cold day, I have seen -15 Celsius but thankfully it's usually short-lived!!
Yes that’s the thing here as well, it is mostly short lived, like a week a year or so, and once every few years it is a few weeks. Still pretty doable. But the -1 to -5 is pretty standard in wintertime. But the the week after it is +12 at night 😂
Your weather sounds really identical to ours here...... that's how winter usually rolls.....Lol!😀
Last year they were plowing our street by now, this year we're sitting at 7.2 degrees Celsius, we haven't even had a frost up in the foothills where we live, just down in the valley......... strange winter, hopefully we won't get hammered in December!!🥶
Yup, that surely does sound identical :-) Same with the summers! One day you’re baking in 39 degrees during the day, and 24 degrees at night, the day after you have 17 degrees at day and 12 at night :-)

Yes indeed! Incredible! And these day, I tend to be more thoughtful and careful about it, but when I was younger, I once gained 7Kgs between Christmas and New Year's Eve, just from family dinners (my dad was a chef, NOT eating an incredibly lot was a crime according to him :-) )

My son tells me over in Hungary it's insulting if you don't eat every dish they prepare for meals or holidays, and apparently they try to feed you very well Lol!😇😀
Yes, it is similar here as well :-) I'm not too familiar with Hungarian culture specifically, but it is very much the same here in Belgium :-)
And yes, especially the Flemish side of Belgium is well known for its burgundic way of life :-D
