The Wind Whispered “Winter” While My Pits Screamed “Summer”

Today’s lunch break walk was one of those weird temperature paradoxes. The air was unseasonably warm, the kind that tricks you into thinking maybe, just maybe, winter took the day off. But the wind? Oh, it was committed. Cold, aggressive, and whispering “regret” into my ears the whole way.

Still, I set out between rain showers and somehow dodged every drop, small win. The sky looked like it had been painted with a very moody sponge, but there was beauty in its bleakness. The canal was quiet, save for the wind bouncing off the water and the occasional leaf deciding it was done with life.

6km walked, 7,500 steps clicked in. My face froze, my core overheated, and somewhere in that weird balance, I remembered why I do this: not just for the movement, but for the mental untangling. Even on a grey day, this beat sitting in a break room scrolling through half-interesting memes.

Might’ve been just a walk… or a very slow-paced therapy session. Either way, I’m calling it a win.
