La liga de ajedrez Chess Brothers continúa. Esta vez fueron 20 jugadores los que dijeron presente en la 3ra válida, un número que por una parte conlleva una ausencia por parte de algunos jugadores que lamentablemente no nos acompañaron en esta edición, pero que esperamos puedan incorporarse nuevamente en las próximas rondas. No obstante, la calidad de juego que pudimos apreciar no nos decepciona para nada. De hecho, muchas de las partidas estuvieron ampliamente disputadas. El espíritu de lucha de cada uno de los jugadores en este evento es fundamental para darle vida a todo este movimiento ajedrecista.

En cuanto a los acontecimientos de esta válida, se ha proclamado un nuevo ganador y ello es algo que nos complace mucho, ya que muestra lo reñida que está la liga. Se trata de @samostically, quien con 21 puntos se hizo con los máximos honores. Tras un inicio un poco lento en las válidas pasadas, el jugador oriundo de Nigeria escaló posiciones, evidenciando sobre el tablero su amplia experiencia y fuerza de juego. Le siguió @tungphong, quien ocupó el 2do lugar esta vez con 18 puntos y en el 3er lugar se ubicó @Jonbellionfan con 16 unidades.

En el vídeo que acompaña el post se analizan en detalle estos resultados. Podemos reseñar que contamos con unos cuantos debutantes en la temporada: Maximiliano2013 y @rafaelaquino. ¡Bienvenidos! También aparece debutando en los registros el CM @sawko, pero supimos que en realidad no pudo participar debido a problemas técnicos.

Ahora bien, debemos hacer un ⚠️ llamado de atención: ⚠️ Si estás participando en la liga y posees cuenta de Hive, pero tu usuario de Hive no aparece en la tabla, significa que no lo conocemos. Recordemos que de acuerdo a las condiciones publicadas en el post de convocatoria, los premios solo aplicarán a aquellos jugadores que posean cuenta de Hive.

Ahora echemos un vistazo a las partidas, hablemos de...

¡Los remates del día!

Como de costumbre damos un repaso a algunas posiciones presentadas en la 3ra válida. En esta ocasión resaltamos los remates más bonitos de la jornada. Veamos este caso:

@samostically vs @fcjr

La actividad de las piezas negras es indomable y @samostically, a pesar de que fue el ganador del torneo, no se pudo salvar en esta partida; una prueba de que en el ajedrez cualquier resultado es posible y lograr un resultado perfecto es muy difícil.

El jugador de piezas blancas Fernando Castro (@fjcr) continúo acertadamente con 29... Ch4+! Recordemos que la combinación de Dama y Caballo trabaja muy bien y a menudo resulta letal en un ataque contra el rey. Pues, en este momento Castro está aplicando muy bien este concepto. Tras ello, @samostically no tiene más remedio que capturar el caballo, pero la entrada de las piezas negras es contundente. Siguió 30. Axh4 gxh4 31. axb6, una jugada que poco aporta, pero realmente era difícil sostener lo que está por venir. Siguió 31... h3+! 32. Rh2 De2 33. Txe1 Dxf2+ 34. Rxh3 Dxf3 35. Rh4 Txe1 y las blancas no tienen más remedio que abandonar, pues las amenazas de mate son inevitables.

Veamos otro interesante caso.

@tony1294vs @tungphong

Tras una apertura que fue todo un río revuelto, llena de combinaciones y complicadas variantes, llegamos a esta posición donde las negras están ganando. Estos dos jugadores han tenido este tipo de posiciones con bastante frecuencia y hasta cierto punto se pudiera decir que comprenden el potencial que alcanzan las piezas en este tipo de esquemas.

Pues bien, el negro en este momento encuentra la continuación más apropiada para darle punto final al encuentro. Hace 30... Te2! que resulta ser muy instructiva y oportuna, pues el jugador contaba con un tiempo super reducido. La jugada deja en manifiesto la actividad de la dama negra y la debilidad del rey blanco. Son múltiples las amenzas y las blancas no tienen salvación. Luego de 31. Dd4? las negras dan jaque mate con 31... Dxf1# Una muy práctica demostración del tema táctico obstrucción.

Convocatoria y condiciones técnicas del torneo 4

1. Se realizará en Lichess.org.
2. Unirse al equipo de Chess Brothers.
3. Fecha y hora: Domingo 07 de Noviembre a las 19 GMT (3pm hora de Venezuela).
4. Modalidad y ritmo: Suizo 3+2 a 7 rondas.
5. Los primeros 10 puestos de cada torneo acumulan 14, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 y 4 puntos respectivamente. El resto de jugadores obtienen 1 punto siempre y cuando hayan jugado por lo menos 3 partidas.
6. El sistema de desempate será el que determine Lichess.

The Chess Brothers league continues. This time there were 20 players who were present in the 3rd round, a number that on the one hand involves an absence of some players who unfortunately did not join us in this edition, but we hope they can join again in the next rounds. Nevertheless, the quality of play that we were able to appreciate was not disappointing at all. In fact, many of the games were widely contested. The fighting spirit of each of the players in this event is fundamental to give life to this whole chess movement.

As for the events of this round, a new winner has been proclaimed and this is something we are very pleased about, as it shows how close the league is. This is @samostically, who with 21 points took top honors. After a somewhat slow start in the previous rounds, the Nigerian-born player climbed up the rankings, showing his vast experience and playing strength on the board. He was followed by @tungphong, who took 2nd place this time with 18 points and in 3rd place was @Jonbellionfan with 16 units.

Game Climax!

As usual, we take a look at some of the positions presented in the 3rd round. This time we highlight the most beautiful finishes of the day. Let's take a look at this case:

@samostically vs @fcjr

The activity of the black pieces is untamable and @samostically, despite being the winner of the tournament, could not escape in this game; a proof that in chess any result is possible and achieving a perfect score is very difficult.

White piece player Fernando Castro (@fjcr) rightly continued with 29.... Nh4+! Let's remember that the combination of Queen and Knight works very well and often proves lethal in an attack against the king. Well, right now Castro is applying this concept very well. After that, @samostically has no choice but to capture the knight, but the entry of the black pieces is forceful. It continued 30. Bxh4 gxh4 31. axb6, a move that adds little, but it was really difficult to sustain what is to come. The game continued with 31... h3+! 32. Kh2 Qe2 33. Rxe1 Qxf2+ 34. Kxh3 Qxf3 35. Kh4 Rxe1 and White has no choice but to resign, as mate threats are inevitable.

Let's look at another interesting case of perfect finishing off.

After an opening that was quite a wild river, full of combinations and complicated variations, we arrive at this position where Black is winning. These two players have had this type of position quite often and to a certain extent it could be said that they understand the potential that the pieces reach in this type of setup.

Well, Black at this moment finds the most appropriate continuation to finish the encounter. He plays 30... Re2! which turns out to be very instructive and timely, because the player had a super reduced time. The move highlights the activity of the black queen and the weakness of the white king. There are multiple threats and white has no salvation. After 31. Qd4? Black gives checkmate with 31.... Qxf1# A very practical demonstration of the tactical theme of obstruction.

2. Join the Chess Brothers team.
3. Date and time: Sunday, November 7th at 19 GMT (3pm Venezuelan time).
4. Mode and time control: 7 round Swiss 3+2.
5. The first 10 places of each tournament accumulate 14, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 and 4 points respectively. The rest of the players get 1 point as long as they have played at least 3 games.
6. The tie-breaking system will be determined by Lichess.
