Reseña del torneo semanal de Chess Brothers: "Explotando debilidades"
¡Qué rápido pasa el tiempo cuando se juega al ajedrez!
Tras haberse completado la sexta ronda de la temporada, el último tercio toma un protagonismo crucial de cara a la clasificación final.
Un poco sobre el "ajedrez bala" empleado
Precisamente este concepto de rapidez fue el que presenciamos el pasado domingo, pues por vez primera se implementó el control de tiempo ajedrez bala (bullet chess), el cual es un ritmo bastante movido en el que se deben tomar decisiones críticas con un tiempo notablemente reducido. No ha de extrañarnos que con las partidas jugadas en este blitz con esteroides, los módulos de análisis enloquezcan por la cantidad de imprecisiones que se suelen cometer.
El reloj para cada jugador se inicializó a 2+1, esto es, dos minutos con un segundo de incremento. Es un margen que tiene que ser bien administrado y que además hace un tanto más difícil a los amantes del berserk doblar sus puntos. No hay que confiarse de ese segundo extra de incremento, pues, a pesar de ser útil, más de un jugador consumió su tiempo casi como en un juego finish cualquiera.
Sin embargo, la emoción y diversión de probar un nuevo ritmo en la liga mantiene viva la chispa y la adrenalina, pues para los conocedores del juego se pasa un rato bastante agradable con todas esas cómicas situaciones producidas por los apuros. De hecho, en competencias presenciales la modalidad blitz y la más estrambótica modalidad bala han tomado gran partido precisamente por la vistosidad que estos representan. Los aficionados parecen ser más atraídos por este ajedrez de contacto que sin duda seguirá evolucionando en los próximos años en cuanto a la organización de eventos.
Por supuesto, comparar una partida relámpago digital con una partida presencial no es tarea sencilla, ya que en cada caso tenemos elementos a los cuales hay que analizarlos con una lupa. El aspecto más resaltante es la misma movilidad de las piezas, lo cual dependerá en gran medida del jugador. En el caso de una partida online puede que para algunos la jugabilidad sea mas o menos favorable. Solo por mencionar algunos elementos: el premove (movimiento anticipado) es muy útil para ahorrar vitales segundos en nuestro reloj.
Por otra parte, en el ajedrez presencial debemos estar siempre atentos y mantener las piezas sobre el tablero. Esto parece obvio, pero con tiempos súper reducidos a veces no es tan fácil mantener el equilibrio y muchas veces en los instantes finales del juego puede darse un río revuelto, es decir, que muchos jugadores se vuelven torpes al desplazar físicamente las piezas, algo que puede dar lugar a malentendidos, cosa que no sucede en el tablero 2D de cualquier plataforma de juego en linea.
Por supuesto, no podía faltar el tan controversial flagging (forzar la caída de bandera), el cual ha abierto el debate y hacer replantear aspectos sobre la ética en las partidas ganadas por hacer uso de este recurso. Éste término se refiere a la habilidad de agotar el tiempo de nuestro rival muchas veces estando nosotros en una posición muy desventajosa. Éste es como el botón de emergencia para ganar la partida. Algunos grandes maestros han criticado el flagging, pues según su criterio esto atenta en contra de los principios del ajedrez.
Realmente encontrar un sistema perfecto de juego no es para nada fácil y cada vez se encuentran detalles por corregir. En efecto, las partidas bala no dejan de ser ajedrez y cada jugador que desee emplear este sistema debe adaptarse y tratar en la medida de lo posible de jugar rápido y bien para evitar caer en esos apuros y ser víctima del flagging. Claro, es más fácil decirlo que hacerlo.
Los resultados
Standing de la 6ta ronda en Lichess
Muy bien, luego de haber tenido una hora intensa de ajedrez bala, en esta oportunidad @tungphong vuelve de su descanso y se lleva el primer lugar, demostrando que es un jugador bastante completo y que esta modalidad le ha sentado de maravilla. Muy de cerca le siguio @eniolw con tan solo un punto de diferencia.
En el tercer lugar tuvimos una interesante sorpresa, la cual pudieramos expresar como el regreso del año. Se trata de @jesusmgl1995, un ajedrecista venezolano que tenía alguno meses inactivo y separado de los tableros. Ha llegado a Hive muy recientemente de la mano de nuestras iniciativas de difusión e invitación. ¡Y qué manera de estrenarse! Felicitaciones al fuerte jugador que esperamos mantenga un desempeño pronunciado en los venideros torneos.

Momentos interesantes
Analicemos algunas posiciones producidas en esta ronda.
Partida @jesusmgl1995 vs @fjcr
Las negras han movilizado sus fuerzas de manera tal que han invadido las filas enemigas. La presión en el centro se hace notar con gran fuerza y el flanco dama está totalemte militarizado por el segundo jugador. En efecto, la posición que se muestra es un claro ejemplo de explotación de los temas tácticos en combinación con las amenazas.
En este punto de la partida las blancas fácilmente pueden abandonar, pues el caballo en d4 no tiene salvación. La clavada con su propio monarca blanco decide. Las blancas no pueden hacer mucho, pues su dama está bajo ataque y no se puede lidiar con ambas situaciones.
Se intentó un sacrificio de calidad, pero no se llegó a mucho y las negras terminaron anotándose el punto. Dejamos a continuación la retransmisión de la partida cortesía de Lichess.org.

Ahora veamos otros caso:
Partida @tony1294 vs @kintokris
En esta posición, @tony1294 posee una ventaja milimétrica y se ve en la situación de jugar para mantener esa iniciativa, aunque las negras tienen grandísimas aspiraciones de igualar, lo cual no es tan descabellado, pues las blancas deben jugar con una precisión altísima en este momento.
No es para nada fácil y @tony1294 se decide por una variante que si bien no es objetivamente correcta le da buenas chances en la práctica. Las blancas tenían la opción de llevar la dama a d3 y aliviar la clavada, pero @tony1294 decide sacrificar el caballo en e6 (en honor al lema de la temporada) y de esta manera confundir a las negras, aprovechando el ataque sobre la dama.
La estrategia de @tony1294 funciona temporalmente. Las negras dan jaque en b6 con la dama y las blancas dejan pasar el momento de oro, pues podían retroceder el caballo a d4 y de esta manera quedaría protegido activamente, pues al finalizar los cambios darían mate en la ultima fila con su torre. Sin embargo, ambos jugadores estaban escasos de tiempo y la cosas se salieron de control. Se llegó a una posición totalmente igualada y las negras cedieron tras unos cuantos blunders producto del tremendo apuro.

How quickly time passes when playing chess!
After the sixth round of the season has been completed, the last third takes on a crucial role in the final standings.
A little bit about the "bullet chess" used
Precisely this concept of speed was what we witnessed last Sunday, because for the first time the bullet chess time control was implemented, which is a very fast time control in which critical decisions must be made with a remarkably reduced time. It should come as no surprise that with games played in this blitz on steroids, the analysis engines go crazy with the number of inaccuracies that are often made.
The clock for each player was initialized to 2+1, that is, two minutes with a one second increment. It is a margin that has to be well managed and that also makes it somewhat more difficult for berserk lovers to double their points. Do not rely on that extra second of increment, because, although it is useful, more than one player consumed his time almost like in any other finish game.
However, the excitement and fun of trying out a new rhythm in the league keeps the spark and adrenaline alive, as those familiar with the game have a pretty good time with all those hilarious rush situations. In fact, in face-to-face competitions, the blitz modality and the more bizarre bullet modality have taken great advantage precisely because of the showiness they represent. Amateurs seem to be more attracted to this contact chess which will undoubtedly continue to evolve in the coming years in terms of event organization.
Of course, comparing a digital blitz game with a face-to-face game is not an easy task, since in each case we have elements that must be analyzed with a magnifying glass. The most outstanding aspect is the very mobility of the pieces, which will largely depend on the player. In the case of an online game, the gameplay may be more or less favorable for some. Just to mention a few elements: the premove (anticipated movement) is very useful to save vital seconds on our clock.
On the other hand, in face-to-face chess we must always be attentive and keep the pieces on the board. This seems obvious, but with super short times it is sometimes not so easy to maintain balance and many times in the final moments of the game there can be a rough river, that is, many players become clumsy when physically move the pieces, something that can lead to misunderstandings, something that does not happen on the 2D board of any online gaming platform.
Of course, the highly controversial flagging (forcing the flag to fall) could not be left out, which has opened the debate and made reconsider aspects of ethics in the games won by make use of this resource. This term refers to the ability to run out our opponent's time, often while we are in a very disadvantageous position. This is like the emergency button to win the game. Some grandmasters have criticized flagging, because according to their view this violates the principles of chess play.
Really finding a perfect system of play is not easy at all and every time there are details to be corrected. Indeed, bullet games are still chess and every player who wants to use this system must adapt and try as far as possible to play fast and well to avoid falling into these difficulties and be a victim of flagging. Of course, this is easier said than done.

Very well, after having had an intense hour of bullet chess, this time @tungphong returns from his break and takes first place, proving that he is a very complete player and that this modality has suited him wonderfully. He was closely followed by @eniolw with only one point difference.
In the third place we had an interesting surprise, which we could express as the return of the year. It was @jesusmgl1995, a Venezuelan chess player who had been inactive for some months and separated from the boards. He has recently arrived at Hive thanks to our outreach and invitation initiatives, and what a way to debut! Congratulations to the strong player who we hope to maintain a good performance in the coming tournaments.

Let's analyze some of the positions produced in this round.
Game @jesusmgl1995 vs @fjcr
Black has mobilized his forces in such a way that he has invaded the enemy ranks. The pressure on the center is very strong and the queenside is totally militarized by the second player. Indeed, the position shown is a clear example of exploitation of tactical themes in combination with threats.
At this point in the game White can easily give up, since the knight on d4 has no salvation. The pinning with his own white monarch decides. White cannot do much, as his queen is under attack and both situations cannot be dealt with.

Game @tony1294 vs @kintokris
In this position, @tony1294 has a millimeter advantage and is in the situation of playing to maintain that initiative, although Black has great aspirations to equalize, which is not so far-fetched, because White must play with a very high precision at this time.
It is not at all easy and @tony1294 decides for a variation that although it is not objectively correct, it gives him good chances in practice. The strategy of @tony1294 works temporarily. Bueno no creo que sea para tanto. Ciertamente el ajedrez bala es bastante controversial por lo que mencionas pero tiene su atractivo también. Yo prefiero tiempos de mayor reflexión pero es bueno variar de vez en cuando. Además la liga ha tenido muchos ritmos de juego.
Dios he estado con tantas cosas que finalmente, ese domingo pude jugar. Espero poder jugar este domingo Dios mediante y ligar a quedar entre los 10 primeros 😅
