Belgian Season 2023-2024 | Supercup Preview

These are previews from matches involving Belgian Teams with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries along with my personal betting angles, ...

Today it's the unofficial start of the new season with the Supercup. I plan to go about things in a very similar way of the last years which has been successful with the main difference in that I am going to try to increase the average amount of units I bet also taking more when limits allow it even though the bets might not be stronger. So as always, see everything with a grain of salt and do your own betting.

FC Antwerp vs Kv Mechelen

The Supercup has turned into a match where the home team takes the approach of it being a real prize that they want to win while the away team sees it as a glorified practice match which is nothing more than a test before the start of the league. As a result of this dynamic, the last 16 editions saw an outright win for the home team with 11 of those just by 1 goal which represents a win-win as the home team takes the cup while the away team doesn't get humiliated to start of their season. Based on the pre-match interviews this will also be the case this season with Van Bommel wanting to take the trophy while Defour talked that he will be happy in case nobody gets injured and if they will manage to keep their composure when they get in trouble which he expects. Antwerp is mostly the same team and wasn't really enforced. Janssen also is questionable for this match and likely won't start with Ilenikhena who is a 16-year old talent getting his chance. Keita and Pacho are no longer with the team while Stenghs doesn't seem to be with the team yet. Mechelen last season both showed lack of quality and not enough physical power. They worked a lot of the 2nd during the preparation but still very much lack on the 1st I would say with incoming transfers that all were quite cheap and on paper underwhelming. Given the situation, the only real option for me is to back the home team but I'm not sure that I'm willing to go for a -1 line as so many previous editions ended with a 1-goal win. I would go for the outright win @ 1.578 but at the same time don't want to make the first bets of the season a low-odds selection. I will however keep an eye out to potentially bet Antwerp in-game or in case odds would go higher after it's confirmed that Janssen isn't starting. I do expect a narrow home win with Antwerp keeping their defensive integrity. I do think the over line is set a bit too high and took 0.4 units on Under 2.75 @ 1.950 as always with an option to reduce exposure when needed in-game.
Late info might change my view on what is written in these previews. I will cover these matches live in our SBC Discord Channel. I'm also sharing all my early pre-game bets there at the time that I am betting them myself.

I take all my Pre-Game & Live bets with my Betting Broker Sportmarket Pro who always provides the best offers on the market with a 1 click solution and doesn't limit winning players offering high limits. For more info check my Sportmarket Pro Review

I share many of my pre-game bets in all my preview posts as bold selections which are all counted as 1-unit flat bets. See these just as info and not as actual betting advice. If you do follow, make sure to shop around for the best odds. In the last 3 seasons, I had 622 of these bets good for +41.274 units and +6.64% ROI.- (Last Update 23 July 2023).

Good luck this season!
Went to the Genk Burnley game. A Sorare tip, that new right winger could be a bargain. Baah I mean.

Thanks,

I checked but Baah right now is not yet available on Sorare because he came from an unsupported league. I did manage to pick up Fadeira for under 10€ as my new Limited U23 striker a while back in anticipation for him to make a transfer which worked out great as he's now going for 50€+. I probably should just take profit on him but I don't want to give up on the use-case. Verbruggen-De Cuyper-Vermeeren-Fadeira + 1 extra should make a team to perform pretty well there.

I'm really hyped for the new season both on betting and Sorare. Crazy how addictive that game turned out to be, you really should give it a proper try with an eye on the new season!
