Friday was a solid start of the week with a match that was at 1-0 minutes before the end while it wa ended early as a fan threw something on the pitch. I was lucky to have the biggeste under bet taken on Pinnacle as sing voided their bets. The corner bet also won rather comfortably even though Standard took the instant lead but remained the better team in the first half. Only after they took a red card, Antwerp was able to create some corners but that was in the 2nd half. 3 more matches on Saturday...
La Louviere vs Westerlo
La Louviere is coming off two 0-0 draws against Dender and Zulte-Waregem playing a style where they just went extreme defense. This got them to a point where they are the 2nd best team on xg against at just 0.84 in the last 4 matches. In the last match Zulte had 70% posession in the 1st half and I do expect a similar scenario today. Westerlo is a team with mixed performances and often many goals in their matches that usually start out pretty slow. Last match at home they started with a low block and managed to comfortably with against a poor OHL. I expect La Louviere to lay back and for Westerlo to take the cautious initiative trying to avoid the counters. While I hate to bet under in Westerlo matches, the play style of La Louviere in their last 2 matches made me take 0.3 units on
1st Half Under 1 @ 2.230 with an option to reduce exposure along the way. I also have a lean on Westerlo on the 1H corners but the fact that despite the match picture against Zulte, the home team still won the corners matchup with 12-1 kind of holds me back. I will see and possibly take a small bet early in the match.
OH Leuven vs Club Brugge
OHL has been the serial underperformer in the last years and this trend continued in their last match which they lost with a 2-0 score against Westerlo. It came as a major surprise that their coach Hubert (who has not shown good things both in Anderlecht & Leuven) was aquired to replace Pocognoli over at Union. So they will have an interim coach for this match and the only sensible prediction is that they will just continue to underperform. Club Brugge has had a difficult season in the league so far often lacking motivation and having some difficulties with defensive opponents. However, in their last match they tanked a lot of confidence against Union taking a deserved 1-0 win. In the form scores over the last 4 matches they are 1st while OHL is last just above Dender. Club Brugge so far this season has underperformed in the 1H standings. Based on previous seasons, the highest ranked leagues also top the 1st half ranking so I do expect a regression to the mean for them. I expect there to be a quality difference today with Brugge riding the better momentum. I also see the odds and line on the 1st half a bit too soft and was willing to take 0.4 units on
Club Brugge 1st Half -0.25 @ 1.807 with the option to possibly add a bit to this position in-game.
Union SG vs Charleroi
Union saw coach Pocognoli abadon ship as he made a transfer to Monaco. The fact that he can earn a lot more there is one of the main reasons but also the fact that Union isn't as good anymore as last year likely will have a lot to do with it. Union remained a solid team on defense but in the midfield and the offense they really weakened compared to previous years. This said, they still are 4W-0L this season on their homa matches against the asian handicap and they should not be underestimated especially against mediocre teams. They have a new coach with Hubert which feels like a bad proposition as they are bringing in a losing coach pretty much who was unable to do good things first in Anderlecht and also failed to get OHL on the rails. So a lot of uncertainty in this match for Union and I'm not willing to back them as the underdog. Charleroi coach De Mil was higher on the list of Union to repalce Pocognoli but he was denied a transfer. In the previous week, Charleroi went to AA Gent for a point but ended with zero and the only thing they did was make things hard for AA Gent in a 0.74-0.44xg match. My lean on this match is on Charleroi +1.25 & Under 2.75 but I don't really have enough conviction and it more feels like a gamble so I'm staying away and will just see what this will bring.

Curious how Union will perform under their new head coach.
I do feel like it's a very strange move that they got Hubert who pretty simply hasn't shown in Anderlecht and OHL that he's making a positive impact on a team. I guess in the short term, it might not make that much of a difference but I would not be surprised to see Union unable to keep up the form of the past years. Will be an interesting match, I doubt I will have much betting action on it.
