Mechelen vs Anderlecht
Mechelen has not managed to find their form of last season so far and also haven't beaten their asian handicaps going 4W-6L so far this season. They only played 1 great match at home against Union who had their mind more on the Champions League qualifier match. This match against Anderlecht in a way comes close to that scenario which makes me believe there will be high intensity, motivation, and home support. Anderlecht played a good match against West Ham in Europe but lost as they were the team that was worse in finishing chances which has been a problem for them as of late. The fact remains that they do create chances with an average of 5.3 in the last 3 matches. They have a similar 4W-6L record against their Asian Handicaps and will be missing Vertongen and Ashimeru today from what I have read. Both are teams I am looking to oppose and I'm more going with a hunch on this one that Mechelen might be the team that rises above themselves today given the circumstances. I took 0.1 unit on
Mechelen 1st Half +0.25 @ 1.825 and 0.1 unit on
Mechelen +0.5 @ 1.988. I do expect both teams to be willing to go forward but since they have had scoring issues I rather go for the over in corners. I managed to get in 0.064 units on
Over 11 Corners @ 2.809 and might look to take more as both score quite well on those.
Eupen vs AA Gent
Eupen had some good and bad matches and they manage to have surprise wins out of nowhere like the one last week against Stvv despite being dominated. AA Gent is only 9th losing their 2 most recent matches in the league. It's safe to say right now that they aren't at their best compared to the excellent period they had near the end of last season. They have shown to miss creativity not being able to replace Tissoudali who is still injured and also luck just hasn't been on their side. I'm sure that at some point this will turn around but I'm not sure that I'm willing to gamble on that pre-game. I will just wait to see the match picture before potentially getting in.

Charleroi vs Standard
Charleroi played really bad last week but still managed to win by 0-1 against Anderlecht. Overall on the season, they have been underwhelming despite them beating their Asian handicap going 5W-4L-1P. They are way better in away games where they are able to lay back while at home they struggle more. Standard has had a strange season clearly lacking quality but making up for that with excellent mentality and luck not being against them. This now puts them in 7th place I would say above their rank. Last week their winning streak broke as they lost 0-2 against Seraing. Both teams right now in the standings have nothing to worry about which might make it into an open match with both teams going their chance. At the same time this feels like lack in quality could make it into a low-scoring encounter. I think the line is too much set toward Charleroi and took a 0.15 unit bet on
Standard +0.5 @ 1.804.
Union vs Cercle Brugge
Not much bad can be said about Union who have played excellent this season still bringing similar quality to what they put up last season. Their main problem remains the combination with the Europa League where they clearly have their focus on and the fact that players who come in from the bench really weaken their team making injuries an issue. I do fully expect the fatigue and focus to be an issue today. Cercle Brugge had a bad start of the season despite having shown last season that they have a solid and capable team even now still without Matondo. Last week they broke their losing streak with a 3-4 win against AA Gent and they have a really easy schedule ahead of them. I do expect them to have gained confidence and would not be surprised if they managed to put up good opposition against Union today and in the coming month go on somewhat of a hot streak. I did take an early bet of 0.2 units on
Cercle Brugge +1 @ 1.793 and kind of regret not having taken more while the odds went up to 1.9+. right now they are sitting at 1.70. I do expect a match with good pace and I will be keeping my eye on the over for a potential in-game bet.
