Kortrijk vs Westerlo
Kortrijk multiple times has been a team of 2 halves showing a completely difference face. This was the case during the mid-week match away against Charleroi where they were quite bad in the 1st half but solid in the 2nd bending a 2-0 defeat into a 2-2 draw. They do have some quality in their team not to one of the main relegation candidates but they are unreliable. Westerlo is set to have a trouble-free season with a good team and decent performances so far. That was until last week when they got destroyed by Racing Genk with a 6-1 score and their momentum currently is shifting a bit. I do expect a match where the will to win for both teams will be bigger than the fear to lose and both are known not to have an easy time keeping a clean sheet. Westerlo who fundamentally are the better team being the slight -0.25 favorite in this match makes sense. So does the 2.75 total line which leaves me just waiting for potential in-game opportunities based on how the match plays out.
No Pre-Game Bets
Sint-Truiden vs OH Leuven
Stvv is now 12th in the league having a bit of a set back with 3 Losses and 1 Win in their last 4 matches while they continue to put up ok performance on average. They Have shown good defense with only 15 goals against but at the same time they have been the worst-scoring team in the league with 12 goals. This remains their main problem as they lack sheer creativity and finishing power. OHL had a great start of the season but have now dropped to 7th place since they don't have the quality to really justify a higher ranking and this has shown in their most recent matches where they were just not that good. From the looks of it, there is a food poisoning in the team which was one of the reasons why they lost with 4-2 to Eupen and many players are still questionable. I don't see this as a match with a wide-open start and took a 0.3 unit position on
1st Half Under 1 @ 2.128. I also took a 0.2 unit bet on
Stvv -0.25 @ 1.830 because of the food poisoning issue and general form & quality of both teams.
Kv Mechelen vs Eupen
Mechelen last week changed their coach and the shock effect worked with a 2-0 win at home against Standard where players showed a lot of fighting power. While Mechelen has not yet shown the form and quality of last season, I do believe they can do a lot purely on willpower which new coach Defour might just be able to get into the team. Eupen took a surprise 4-2 win over OHL in a match where the food poisoning probably was an issue for OHL and Eupen just wanted it more. Overall they have not been a good team though and I rank them near the worst in the league. They do on occasion take surprised outright wins but these tend to be the exception. Both teams are just above the relegation zone and I don't think fear or nerves will be an issue. I can see Kv Mechelen again taking a high-intensity start wanting to get the lead as quickly as possible and Eupen going their chance on counters. I do anticipate Mechelen to dominate the early game or at least have an attempt to do so and they actually are a good 1H home team even before Defour became head coach without a loss in their lasy 6 home matches while Eupen so far on the road never was in the lead in the 1st half. This made me take 0.4 units on
Kv Mechelen 1H -0.25 @ 2.030 I also took 0.16 units on
Kv Mechelen 1H Corners -0.75 @ 1.990 for similar reasons. Eupen also is a team that quite easily gets goals against which made me add just 0.1 unit on
Kv Mechelen Team Total Over 1.5 @ 1.756. All this with an eye to possibly take more in-game.
Union vs Club Brugge
Union this season has been (along with Genk) the team that most consistently has put up excellent performances and they are in a great for seemingly not having issues with fatigue or rotation. They are in a winning streak and most of their matches see 3 goals or more since they score quite easy but are not a lock in the back. Club Brugge on the other hand is the team that has most quality when it comes down to the players base but unlike Union, they haven't been that consistent in their performance in the league. At times when they really push they are great but they never are able to do this for an entire match and they tend to control things once they have a lead instead of looking for more goals unless the opponent really allows it. From what I recall, previous encounters resulted in open matches where both games were fully going from it from the start despite not that many goals falling. This is something I will keep an eye on but overall I have no clue how this match will play out as form of the day will likely be key. A case can be made for both teams depending on what factors you looks at.
