The Pre-Game bet on Club Brugge in the first half won comfortably yesterday which also made it hard to get more bets in. Week 19 now ends today with 4 matches that are left to be played
Eupen vs Union SG
Eupen after a traditional good start has made their way all the way down again and are now 3rd last in the standing with 2 draws and 4 losses in their last 6 matches. They did play an ok match at home recently against Genk despite losing 1-3 and were somewhat unlucky in a poor match against direct rival Westerlo where they lost 2-0. Overall they are a team that lack quality and finishing power but they don't always look without chance as Kortrijk. Union on the other hand continues to just crush everything. They are 1st in the league and 8 points clear of Anderlecht, they qualified in Europe and never lost a match after a mid-week match all while they tend to get very high handicaps which they systematically cover as they are 11W-3.5L-3.5P on the season. So it's stupid to oppose them so far but really had to bet on them as again today they are a -1.75 away favorite! I do expect a similar Eupen strategy as matches before where they try to keep the 0-0 for as long as possible and try something after minute 72'. Their last 4 home matches had 12 / 13 / 18 /16 corners while for Union this was 13 / 13 / 13. So an over corner bet at high odds might be worth a shot and I took just 0.056 units on
Over 11 Corners @ 2.560 with an eye to possibly increase on this
Antwerp vs Westerlo
Antwerp recently has shown to be a very mature team, especially at home with solid performances in their last 5 matches. Against weaker teams, they had some stand-out scorelines recently winning 5-2 from Charleroi / 6-0 against Standard / 4-1 against Eupen / while they also could have won more than 1-0 against OHL. Westerlo pretty much fits in a team with this profile and even though they managed to win their last 2 matches (2-0 against Eupen / 1-2 against Kortrijk) both matches were rather lucky without actual good performances against the 2 worst teams in the league. Surely it sometimes happens that results spark better play but right now I see no reason for Westerlo to all of a sudden put up a good performance and Antwerp all of a sudden disappoint. On top, Bayram who has been the best Westerlo Player is suspended. The bet I like the most Pre-Game is Antwerp with a big handicap and I took 0.2 units on
Antwerp -2 @ 2.970 to possibly take more in-game at lower lines. If there is an early goal it would at least be good for the bet without increasing my stakes further.
Sint-Truiden vs Charleroi
Stvv so far this season have shown good signs but they are coming after an off match against RWDM which they lost 3-0. Their main problem remains creating played out chances as everything relies on Koita who was sick last week but will be ready to play. There is always a lot of talk about their bad artificial pitch but they aren't getting that much advantage out of it since they are 4W-5L-0P against the asian lines at home in matches that average just 2.11 goals going 7W-1.5L-0.5P on the under line. Charleroi is a team that should have enough quality but somehow it hasn't fully showcased yet with a play style that is typically mazzu way too cautious. This results in them only scoring 18 goals in 18 matches (Stvv scored only 21). I rate these teams somewhat similar in quality but Stvv so far this season has shown a lot more. All stats point toward this being a match with few goals and this also fully refelcts in the total line at 2.25. Stvv usually plays good 1st halves followed by a weaker 2nd half, they are 5th in the 1H standings with just 1 first half lost at home against Union. Charleroi on the other hand has yet to win a 1st half away from home. The only bet I'm tempted by this match is Stvv 1H +0 but the 1.7 odds are just a tick too low. If they move to 1.8 I likely would take some. Charleroi away from home went to 9 or more corners in 7 of their 8 matches. Stvv come of a 15-2 corner match but generally have an under trend. Hashioka is questionable and Godeau is suspended which weakens stvv a bit and Charleroi is complete.
No Pre-Game Bets
Anderlecht vs Genk
This should be an interesting match between Anderlecht who on average a 2.07xg Team total in their last 3 matches and Gent who average a 2.89 xg Team total in their last 3 matches. Anderlecht has been solid and are a real title contender but they are without Debast (who is suspended) and possibly Vertonghen (who isn't fully fit). these are their 2 central defenders so especially if Vertonghen isn't ready to play it will weaken them a lot. Schmeichel also hasn't looked most secure as a goalkeeper. Genk so far has had a difficult season where the quality hasn't translated in that many wins but they are improving recently and come off an excellent 4-0 win last week at home even though it was only against Kortrijk. Their coach now also seems to have found a starting 11 with Sor who picked up some form in the striker position and Paintsil/Fadera on the wings while the midfield with El Khannous/Heynen/Horozovsky is also solid. Both teams are a bit higher on 2h goals with Anderlecht going over 1.5 goals in 2H 6 out of 8 matches and Genk yet having to got a no goal 2nd half with 5 of 8 going to just 1 goal. Hazard is still injured and Amuzu who usually comes in also sin't there while Genk is complete. Based on the injuries/suspensions I would side with Genk as the +0.25 handicap which I realised this morning but the line by then already moved to +0 which is too much of a risk for me. I did take 0.136 units on
