Great start of week 22 in the league yesterday with what turned out to be a good bet on Standard and the under for a nice +0.61 units of profit and some confidence going into Saturday and Sunday.

Kortrijk vs OH Leuven

Kortrijk took a somewhat surprise much-needed win last weekend away against Standard which keeps them in last spot 4 points behind OHL who they play at home today. So far, they showed a slight improvement but they by no means impressed under their new coach and they remain the main relegation candidate. OHL seems to have stepped up their form and performances lately and they did play a mid-week match in the cup putting up a good performance despite losing 2-3. The case can be made for Kortrijk who play at home with more freshness coming of an important away win while they are chasing OHL in the standings. However, the quality difference for me is big enough to have a small try on the visitors. 0.3 units on OH Leuven +0 @ 1.823 with an eye to maybe increase that. OHL is the worst 1H away team so I'm in no rush and first halves in these relegation battles also often tend to be of poor quality with few chances. Once the first goal falls, it might very much become a wide open game and near 70% of the goals in Kortrijk home matches come in the 2nd half.

AA Gent vs Westerlo

AA Gent last week showed that they are simply weakened without Watanabe, Hong, Tissoudali, Orban, & Fofana with a performance at home against Mechelen which was maybe enough to take the draw even though they lost. They had the ball and the initiative but each time Mechelen was able to come out on the counter they showed vulnerable defensively. Westerlo on paper got crushed by Club Brugge in a match that had 4.25xg for Club and just 0.07xg for Westerlo. However, the match itself wasn't that extreme and Westerlo is a team that looks to have improved a lot. They do miss Piedfort while Stassin/Vaesen are still injured and Frigan not 100% yet while Vermant is new as a striker. With Daci they don't really have the killer but I do expect them to put up a decent performance today mainly because AA Gent are weakened and can be beaten. I did take an early 0.3 unit bet on Westerlo +1.25 @ 2.029. I do expect AA Gent to take the initiative with Westerlo also getting their chances. AA Gent tends to be an over home team while Westerlo also seems to be more daring with their new coach. I also took a 0.2 unit position on Over 3 @ 1.880.

Charleroi vs Club Brugge

Charleroi last week put up one of the all-time worse performances of the league last week away against Antwerp and the defensive apoproach of their coach doesn't really seem to be working anymore. This has gotten them in full relegation battle and they need to put up a streak to get out of it. However, it will be extremely difficult to switch the momentum as they play against Club Brugge who are in a good flow being able to field their full A-Squad. Ilaimaharitra who is important for Charleroi on top is also suspendend while their maing goalkeeper is in the Africa Cup. I would be surprised if this started as a match where Charleroi out of nowhere puts up a great performance with Club Brugge at the same time underperforming. What often is seen with Club Brugge is that they start great and make the difference early to afterward not push further. I do expect this to the the match picture with the Visitors being dominant while Charleroi once again lures on the counter. I took 0.3 units on Club Brugge 1st Half -0.5 @ 2.049. If this one loses, there should be some good live-betting opportunities.
