Saturday was one of those days without too many bets and with the stakes kept to an absolute minimum but still some ok profit in the end. If anything, I need to increase my minimum stakes as I feel like I'm going backwards. On Sunday there are 4 what I would call difficult matches so I don't expect anything big.

Genk vs Anderlecht

Genk remains a tricky team as they either play their offensive game and are vulnerable on the counters or put more importance in defense which cuts off all their offensive impulses while remaining a bit vulnerable on the defense. Last week, they won 1-2 against Dender thanks to the fact that the home team started poorly. However, Genk got under pressure and ended the match with 1.11xg while Dender had 2.75xg. Over the last 4 matches they only created on average 1.07xg whike they gave away 1.59. At the same time they remain a team with lots of potential which brings about fear to oppose them as 'this might just be the day they start playing up to their potential'. Anderlecht remains a mess right now as they lost with 2-0 against a poor Standard last week totally giving it away. They actually are without a win in their last 5 league matches and also lost to Antwerp at home in the mid-week cup match. They are inbetween having a new coach and De Cat is suspended today while they lost Angulo in the winter. The odds feel about right and I have a slight lean on Anderlecht as the underdog as it remains a match that needs to be played. I'm just going to wait and see how it plays out in-game before potentially taking some bets. I'm in this one with a wide open mind and a small lean on Anderlecht Team Total Over. Genk is actually last in the Home 1st half standings. No Pre-Game Bets

Union vs La Louviere

Union didn't get further than a 0-0 draw away against Charleroi in the cup and have some injury/suspension worries as goalkeeper Scherpen got injured while Burgess is suspended and Niang is also out. They still have plenty of quality and showed in the past that mid-week matches aren't that much of a negative factor for them. They always tend to get high lines at home and recently they started failing to cover them. La Louviere is near the bottom of the standings now and have the home reputations where they are always a difficult opponent. However looking at the handicaps they actually performed better away from home where they are slight positive. They also have a divergence in being under at home but over away (1.33 goals vs 2.73 goals on average). In a comparable away match a couple weeks back they managed to win with 2-3 against Club Brugge not undeserved despite getting 2-0 behind. Union is an under team because they have been the most solid in the defense. Both teams are actually ranked 1 & 2 in the standing of lowest xg against in the last 4 matches at 0.85 & 0.87. The line is also not set that high at 2.5 for a match between the leader (with slight defensive problems) and the 2nd last. I'm starting to get interested if the odds one the -1 line get above 1.80 or if La Louviere would be the first team to score. Looking at the numbers, La Louviere isn't that bad on corners so if there is an early push from Union and they are able to take the lead there, I might be tempted to take La Louviere as the big corners underdog. Club Brugge vs Standard

Club Brugge didn't have a mod-week match and should be ready to face Standard at home. In their last home game against Zulte-Waregem, they had total domination and 90% posession but still were not able to create enough in the 1st half while they got hit on the counters. Standard got a quality injection with Teuma and won last week at home agains Anderlecht with 2-0 which was a flattering score as they were highly efficient on mistakes that the opponent gave away. Goalkeeper Epolo is injure along with Nielsen & Karamoko us suspended. So everything kind of points to a match where Brugge will have contol and take initiative while Standard builds a wall and tries to come out on the counters. I was considering to take Club Brugge during the week but hesitated and the odds dropped by now which I'm not going to chase. I hope for a defensive Standard who is able to hold off Club Brugge for a while or maybe even get a counter in to possibly still back Brugge in-game. Lines at the moment for me are just too high, which many times is also the best indication for them to get covered easily by the favorite. No Pre-Game Bets

Mechelen vs Antwerp

Mechelen traditionally has been a strong home team but this season things are reversed as they tend to perform better away where they don't really have to make the play. They took a deserved 2-2 draw against OHL last week coming back from 2-0 behind and have some suspension and injuries this week. They are a team where you know they will eventually miss out on playoff 1 but at the same time they are capable of putting in ok performances. So it's tricky to both back them or oppose them. Antwerp is inbetween cup semi-final matches where they have a good position winning with 0-1 againt Anderlecht. As seen yesterday, these cup matches might lead to some rotation or lack of focus. Antwerp for a moment had a good streak after a combination of having a new coach and the stadion getting a new tribune. By now though, they seem to have been passed that and struggle again as the overall team isn't that great. Last week, they won 0-4 against Cercle who took a red card early in the match. If Antwerp wants to have a shot at playoff 1, a win is needed today as losing would put the gap between them and mechelen at 6 points. So I do expect an away team who comes out with the intention to win it, which might make for an interestin match. Mechelen has been an over corners team this season and I took a tiny initial 0.12 unit bet on Over 9.5 corners @ 1.959. Usually, teams who have some fatigue take a while to get in the match and Mechelen this season has been a good 1st half team coming in at a 2nd place. I do ecpect a good motivated start from the home team and was willing to take 0.23 units on Kv Mechelen 1st Half +0 @ 1.826
