I gave a bit back yesterday after a great week but it could have been worse as Union still managed to get the draw in the end while failing to create enough corners. I'm already at 5 units of volume this week so I'm on track to get close to 8 units stakes with 4 matches to be played which is I aim to be at least. Here we go again having a closer look at each of the matches...

Cercle Brugge vs Club Brugge

Cercle Brugge had a poor start of the season and has been in chasing mode eventually picking up their form. Their main issue is that in each match they just make stupid unneeded mistakes which tends to cost them points. At the same time since it happens so often it's not really coincidence. They are the team with the biggest gap in standings vs expected standings as they 'should' have had 11 points more sitting in 7th place accoring to those standings. They played a wild 3-4 match away against a weakened Charleroi holding up after falling with 10 vs 11 at the end if the 1st half. The week before they had an off-day losing with a 0-4 score from Antwerp after their goalkeeper got red very early on. At home against their city rival is always a match that is marked for them so I do expect full intensity from the start but also fear at some point for the lights to go out again. Club Brugge had some more mature performances and are starting to get closer to the form they should always have been capable of. They are complete and should start their best 11. One of their issues is that their head is too much on the Champions League matches while they never really push when in the lead and in a comfortable controlling position. Basically over 90 minutes, I do expect Club Brugge to be better but I don't exclude them being surprised by the early Cercle Brugge intensity. This got me staying away from the 1.90 away odds on the -0.5 line which by now has been hit down to -0.75. Both teams are quite low on xg created in the last 4 weeks at 0.83 & 1.21 while at the same time, Cercle Brugge is last in xg against a 2.28. Also Cercle has not lost a home corners matchup against top teams. Basically, I hope for a good start from Cercle to either back Club Brugge or for Club Brugge to take the lead to Possibly take Cercle on the corners handicap or team total over. Right now, I'm staying away No Pre-Game Bets

Antwerp vs Westerlo

Antwerp simply has not been good lately going back to what they were before the brief coach change effect results boost. They were in an unique position to get the cup final playing at home going in with a 0-1 lead in the previous match against a drifting Anderlecht. They lost in the mid-week with 0-4 without chance picking up fatigue and a lot of dissapointment. The weekend before, they lost with 2-0 agains kv Mechelen. So at this point the coach change effect along with the home advantage which really sparked when the new tribune was introduced are gone and they are just showing poor form and performances. Westerlo is arguably in a similarly bad position as they just flip ok matches like the one 2 weeks ago away against Zulte where they won 0-1 with horrible performances like last week where they lost at home without chance with 0-4 against Stvv. Generally they simply haven't shown enough and I'm surprised that their coach isn't under heavy fire. They are in a position where they are chasing Antwerp who are 3 points ahead and are in a bounce back spot afte ra poor performance last week. They tend to start matches well bit not always end them the best. I can see a situation where Antwerp starts a bit in overdrive to make up for the Cup loss but will be unable to keep that up long with Westerlo sooner than later getting inside of the match also having a fair chance. I took 2 bets during the cup semi-final seeing how poor Antwerp who were already om my fade list of 0.12 units on Westerlo +0.25 @ 2.041 & 0.12 units on Westerlo Team Total Over 1 @ 1.740. Antwerp only narrowly won the 1st half corner matchup once at home, Westerlo isn't that great away but in case Antwerp would take a hot start I might take some on Westerlo in case this comes to an end and they start taking over. I'm also keeping my eye open to take some more on Westerlo on their team total over but need to see more first. It's not that they are that great and they do also moss Haspolat who is their captain and quite important.

Anderlecht vs La Louviere

Anderlecht in the face of another big crisis managed to rise above it winning in the cup away against Antwerp with 0-4 making up for the home loss and qualifying. This after their coach was fired and their interim coach along with most of the staff left. It is often said that they lack quality but this is maily compared to teams like Club Brugge. They do have enough to comfortably be inside the top 6 though. This issues are balance in the team and just overall form & confidence having to cope with the pressure. The question today is of they can build on the Cup win or if once again they will fall back to a mediocre performance. I would say that La Louviere also is a more difficult opponent than Antwerp as they have their defense in order at just 0.99xg against in the last 4 matches. At the same time, they are in 2nd last place and quite low in xg created at just 0.95 in the last 4. Anderlecht has created more lately at 1.66 created but also became more vulnerable in defense at 1.79xg against. I expect a good drive from Anderlecht but a combination of fatigue and underestimation of La Louviere might get them in trouble and back in cisis mode. It's hard to either back or oppose them right now as it feels like a total gamble. La Louviere mainly at home is an under team on their artidicial pitch going 9W-3L on the under while away, they are actually beating the over lines at 7.5W-4L-0.5 as those tend to be quite soft. This again feels a bit the case today at a 2.25 line. I took tiny initial bets of 0.06 units on Over 2.25 @ 1.959 & 0.052 units on Both To Score @ 2.090 with an eye to possibly increase the stake in-game.

Sint-Truiden vs Zulte-Waregem

Stvv after a loss at home breaking a winning streak against Charleroi where they deserved the draw managed to bounce back with a convincing win against Westerlo. They are 2nd in the standings and more so also 2nd in the expexted ranking even they are the 2nd luckiets at 6 points more compared to what they deserved. I still kind of remain with the question if they are temporarily overperforming and if it will come crashing down or if they just are solid across the board. It looks like they are legit but they also are getting legit handicaps now as the -0.75 handicap home favorite. Zulte-Waregem are coming off a narrow deserved under match at home against Dender and are trying to stay above the playdown places. I would not be surprised with another solid match of Sint-Truiden only narrowly covering the handicap or a win from Zulte-Waregem out of nowhere which they certainly are capable of. I'm opting to stay away. No Pre-Game Bets
