Mechelen was better than I expected and Genk was worse so finishing this match with just a -0.3 unit loss was quite acceptable. More matches on Saturday and Sunday.
Antwerp vs Eupen
Antwerp had a hold-up win away against Genk last week playing mostly defense. They are coming off 3 matches against Top Teams (Genk/Brugge/Anderlecht) and in each of those matches they managed to keep a clean sheet but also only score once. These games are no reference whatsoever for the home game against Eupen and it remains to be seen if Antwerp will be able to actually make the play while at the same time not give much away. Eupen remains a team in the bottom region but they managed to get out of direct danger with a last minute turnaround last week against Mechelen and 2 1-1 draws against Westerlo and Genk. They tend to play tight in defense but when they have the ball they go for it. My lean for sure goes out to Antwerp but I'm not sure that I'm willing to take a gamble at the current line just yet mostly because Antwerp might not push when in a 1-goal lead. Instead I'm just going to wait and see how it goes, If the line gets to -1 on Antwerp or if Eupen scores first I might get in on them. For now,

Oostende vs Charleroi
Oostende has been a team that hasn't been short in work power and enthusiasm but a combination of just not enough quality and luck not having been on their side has put them in the 2nd last place. They pretty much need a win today at home against Charleroi to give them some hope and belief again which won't be easy. One of their main problems has been just getting too many goals against while at the same time they never give up which scored them some points including last week against direct rival Zulte-Waregem. Charleroi should be clear from the relegation zone and still have a chance to reach playoff 2. Their performance last week against Seraing was good with a straightforward 3-0 win. They have some more scoring power again with Bayo and their coach nearly doesn't play as defensive as he did in the past especially not against smaller teams. So I do expect a match with 2 teams motivated to just go for the win and for there to be goals in this match is the main thing I look at. the 2.75 line feels quite right though and for now, I'm just waiting for potentially better odds in-game. The over in corners is also quite close for me to take a small stab at with a 9.5 line but also here I just want a bit extra to really be comfortable.

Seraing vs Zulte-Waregem
Zulte-Waregem is still in the danger zone but overall they have showed way more than Seraing to be a team that has a chance to save themselves. Nerves today will be high in this direct duel which likely will come at the cost of quality of play. More importantly, both Bruls and Vormer who were brought in during the winter break as enforcements are injured. They so far really made a difference and it likely will be felt that they are without them. Seraing remains the weakest team in the league and it's a small miracle to see them score as often as they do especially away from home. They play on a narrow pitch which more than often results in low-scoring 1st halves. With key players out, overall quality low and nerves high, I'm betting on this one to turn out in a low-scoring 1st half and I took 0.4 units on

Union vs Standard
Union continues to perform well rarely having an off-day while Standard tends to be good at home against good teams but at the same time take outright losses against weaker teams like last weekend against Kortrijk. I'm keeping if fairly simple and straightforward in this match. Union is the better team with more quality and they are in form against Standard who I see as ranked above their real standing still. Union has the home advantage and didn't have to play European football while they saw Genk lose points yesterday. I'm willing to get in on the current lines with initial small stakes of 0.15 units on
Union 1st Half -0.5 @ 2.140 and 0.1 unit on
Union -1 @ 1.967 and with an eye to take more in-game. It should be a match where the home team at the start takes all the initiative while Standard mostly needs to hope on getting counters. I also consider a bet on Union 1H corners if I can get a -1 line.
