Friday pretty much went as hoped with Kortrijk not losing against Zulte-Waregem and around 0.5 units of profit and a won crypto bet on that match. More matches today and tomorrow that I'm looking forward to...
Seraing vs Kv Mechelen
This is a match between the worst home team and worst away team. Seraing remains the last in the league and any point they take pretty much is a surprise as they somehow always manage to score out of no chances. Their pitch is narrow and they continue to be more heavy on goals later in the match as their plan usually is to try and keep the opponent from scoring which fails at some point always. Mechelen has been the worst away team in the league and I'm quite sure they will have a strong goal today to break this bad streak today. Likely the only objective will be to take the win with the way how not being important. The most likely scenario for me is a cautious start from both with Mechelen taking most initiative at the same time not taking the needed risks. I continue to like the Seraing home under in the first half and took already yesterday 0.25 units on
1st Half Under 1 @ 2.200 with an eye to possibly take more now but the odds came down overnight. I'm also leaning toward Mechelen breaking their bad away streak but at the same time it's hard to back a team with such an away record as the favorite.
Eupen vs Cercle Brugge
Cercle played an excellent derby at home last week against Club Brugge and it's a question if they can continue to build on this performance or if they are going to have some kind of let down. They do generally perform better at home and their lines so far haven't really shown much value while they do lack sheer finishing power. Eupen stood no chance away against Antwerp after taking a red card in the first half. Before the penalty they did manage to keep Antwerp from creating much. The 2nd half was a non-match as Antwerp didn't push while Eupen knew there was no point in taking risks. In their previous 3 home matches, they took a 2-1 win against Mechelen right at the end, a 1-1 draw against both Westerlo and Genk so they are certainly capable even though their performances were mediocre at best.
No Pre-Game Bets
Genk vs Oostende
Genk has not reached the same form as what they had at the start of the season but they remain a solid and dangerous team with plenty of quality. Oostende is 2nd last in the standings due to a combination of not enough quality and luck not on their side this season also. Especially against good teams away, they have stood no chance this season (3-0 vs Union / 6-0 vs Westerlo / 4-2 vs Brugge / 3-0 vs Antwerp / 2-0 vs Anderlecht). The odds for me are worth a small gamble even though I don't consider Genk right now a team that takes easy wins. I got in for 0.15 units on
Genk -1.5 @ 2.078 and 0.10 units on
Genk 1st Half -0.5 @ 1.891 this with an eye to possibly increase my stake in-game depending on the match picture. The offense of Genk simply should be much better compared to the Oostende defense.
Westerlo vs Union
This is the most interesting match for me as I see the potential for a high scoring game while the market factors in the opposite. Westerlo at home tends to go for it both beating their handicap (7W-5L-1P) and total lines (9W-3L-1P vs the over). Union also has beaten their handicaps (7W-3.5L-2.5P) and total lines (8W-3.5L-2P) away. These are 2 teams that tend to push early and once in the lead go much more into a mode where they control the match not pushing enough after a lead. Westero also remains one of the best 1st half-time teams in the league. There is always a chance of this match turning into a tactical chess game but both teams are in a good spot and can look forward so it should play out in a very entertaining encounter. For now, I took 0.22 units on
1st Half Over 1 @ 1.852 (both combined are 66% on that line) and also 0.253 units on
Over 2.5 @ 1.887. I'm also leaning toward Westerlo as the home underdog.
