Cercle Brugge vs Kv Mechelen
These 2 teams still fight for a playoff 1 spot with mainly Mechelen having picked up their form ranking around the top of the standings in 2024. Cercle Plays a style of high press kicking many balls forward counting on Denkey to score the goals. He scored 21 out of their 38 goals this season and will be out. This means they will play with Olaigbe in front who is a totally different type better at exploiting counters with his speed. Mechelen under their new coach has put down a good defensive base and now have gotten hope and some belief that they still can make it in playoff 1 even though they will need to win all their matches likely. Cercle Brugge remains the team with least play-time during a match as often the play is delayed due to their style. I have been riding their unders for quite some time now and lines barely get adjusted. The main downside today is that Mechelen can't be happy with a draw. I do expect a match where not much football is played at the start with Mechelen getting used to the play style of Cercle and Cercle being without key striker Denkey. I do see Mechelen as too big of an underdog given their good form and took early 0.4 units on
Mechelen +0.75 @ 1.841 along with 0.089 units on
Mechelen +1 @ 1.769. I also took 0.224 units on
Under 2.75 @ 1809 & 0.176 units on
1st Half Under 1 @ 2.059. Mechelen will need to go forward which also made me take 0.057 units on
Kv Mechelen +2 Corners @ 1.806 all bets with an eye to possibly take more in-game or middle/hedge the positions later in the match if needed.
OH Leuven vs Union
OHL is in big trouble after Charleroi took a hold-up win yesterday against Westerlo. They are now back in a relegation spot with matches left against Union/Club Brugge/Mechelen while their play simply hasn't been good enough. Today they play against Union who continue to be one fire with another comeback win in the cup during the mid-week against Club Brugge to qualify for the finals. The big question remains how long they can keep this up without the fatigue kicking in as they also still play in Europe. So far none of it has been an issue and they actually won every single match after an European Mid-week. Likely there will be some rotation which makes this one tricky along with the fact that they had multiple matches where they won but failed to cover the handicap due to a poorer 2nd half. They are the best away 1st half team with 5 wins and 1 draw in their last 5 away matches. OHL however seems to do well in the 1st half at home with 3 wins and 2 draws in their last 5 making it hard to go for an Union 1H play. OHL has been good at home against the Asian Handicap 7.5W-3.5L-2P but they also are the biggest Home under team with 1W-9L-3P against the Over line. Union generallt is an over team. So while I feel like taking Union in the 1st half, the stats and unknown starting 11 keep me away from it for now.

Standard vs AA Gent
Standard despite being in somewhat of a crisis sitting just 1 spot and 2 points clear of the playdowns actually hasn't played that bad. Their main problem has been creating chances and scoring goals. Over the season they have just 0.87xg on average and in the last 4 games it was only 0.45xg ranking at the absolute bottom there. This makes it hard to win matches and nothing really changed for this problem all of a sudden to be solved. AA Gent has picked up their xg again to 1.79xg in the last 3 matches after it was at 0.56xg a couple of weeks ago. They are coming of an excellent match against Antwerp even though they gave the win away ending in a 2-2. Their coach is playing more an more like union with very high intensity but the difference that they are inefficient both offensively (missing chances) and Defensively (Giving cheap penalties away). Kums is still injured but Gerkens has picked up his form. Standard will be without Vanheusden, Fossey, Canak and Noubi but Ngoy is back in defense. For AA Gent, Watanabe is still questionable defensively. Standard is 1W-10.5L-1.5P on the over at home while AA Gent is 4W-9L on the over away which explains the 2.25 total line which otherwise feels quite low. Also in this match I will just wait and see before potentially taking something.
