It was a pretty good result yesterday betting just 0.8 units spread over 8 bets getting +0.125 units profit out of them getting in at the good time and hedging when needed. I'm looking forward to the 4 matches that are played today and more betting action can be expected as always...
Westerlo vs Standard
Westerlo so far this season covered the handicap of their home match against Cercle who so far have been poor away but failed twice to do cover on the road. I see them as a slightly overhyped team as if they are similar to Union last season while they still have a lot to prove and by no means took a similar start. They are however quite high in the standing of shots on target (5.7 average) and they had at least 11 corners in all 3 of their matches. Standard won last week with a 2-0 score at home also against Cercle Brugge and mostly needed to have it from their fighting power as their overall individual quality still is not that high, especially in the offense where they needed 2 penalties to score. They also at least had 11 corners in each of their 3 matches. I don't expect a wide-open high pace match with that much finishing quality and took 0.25 units on
1st Half Under 1 @ 1.969, 0.05 units on
Under 2.5 @ 1.963, & 0.1 unit on
Standard +0.5 @ 1.944. I'm also leaning on Westerlo for the corners but I will wait that out for now.
Cercle Brugge vs Kv Mechelen
Based on the first 3 matches, Cercle Brugge looks to have a different form at home compared to away matches. They put up an excellent performance against Anderlecht at home but dissapointed in both the away matches against Westerlo & Standard. They also seem to have picked up somewhat of a scoring problem after Matondo left. Overall they certainly are not bad and they have potential but they aren't yet at the level they were last season. Mechelen had somewhat of a struggling start in their first 2 matches first losing 0-2 to Antwerp following that up by a 2-1 loss against Oostende leaving them with 0 on 6 which was under-rewarded. Last week, however, they really showed the right mentality taking a 3-0 win over Union with players like Storm picking up a better form again. All this makes me willing to take a gamble on the underdog away team with a 0.25 unit bet on
Kv Mechelen +0.25 @ 2.068, I also see Mechelen capable of scoring potentially more than 1 and took an initial bet on
Kv Mechelen Team Total Over 1.5 @ 2.779 for just 0.07 units with an eye to take more in-game. The fact that Cercle seems to be having difficulties scoring keeps me away from the FT over.
Seraing vs Charleroi
Seraing in every way has been the worst team in the league. They have 0 points never covering their handocap with 1 goal scored and 6 against with an average of 2.3 shots on goal in their matches and only 5 corners created in total also ranking lowest in average rating I personally assign to each team everey match. In the past I often regretted opposing teams like this which made me take an early 0.5 unit bet on
Charleroi -0.5 @ 1.930 despite the fact that Charleroi hasn't overly impressed. They played a mature match at home against Eupen winning 3-1 followed by a narrow 1-0 deserved loss against Union and a poor performance at home against Oostende losing 1-3. Overall they just have a better team and they already showed to be mature enough to get a result in matches like while I see Seraing potentially not being rated properly in the betting market. Off course the match still needs to be played and it rarely is easy, but the odds are worth the risk for me on just a straight clean away win. I will be looking to potentially add more if there is some confirmation.
Union SG vs Kv Kortrijk
Union chose to park the bus in the mid-week match defening a 2-0 lead which backfired with a 3-0 loss and elimination from the Champions League which by no means is the end of the world. The main question is how fatigue will be a factor today as last week with just some players starting on the bench they lost with a 3-0 score against Kv Mechelen. They are also 0-3 against their opening asian handicap lines this season in the league. They have shown to be capable but the question remains if it will come out today and if they are overrated just based on last season. Kv Kortrijk played an excellent 1st half in their first match against OHL just failing to score to lose with 1-2 in the end. In week 2 they took a 0-1 win showing good defense despite falling with 10 vs 11 early in 1st half, last week finally they played a logic 0-0 draw at home in a very closed match where they got the better chances. So they have shown good form on defense only getting 2 goals against while scoring themselves has not been that easy also ranking quite low on shots on target. I did take an early bet seeing Union lose against Rangers for 0.4 units on
Kortrijk +1.25 @ 1.920 which by now increased to a +1.5 line. I'm always cautious going against moved especially if I already took some making it potentially an ego play which I always try to set aside. Neither team so far had matches where more than 10 corners were created. If Union comes out strong and scores easy after some corners, I might have a go at the under. For now I will just stick to what I have and wait to see what the match brings. I do like the odds on Kortrijk to score as they should get at least a couple good chances and have offensive quality with Selemani & Gueye. I did take 0.1 unit on
Kortrijk Team Total Over 0.5 @ 1.940 and also a beer bet on
Habib Gueye anytime goalscorer @ 4.900 as he is their main centrum striker who seems a bit underrated due to him yet having to pick up his form. I also took a crypto bet of 1000 TRX on
