Why cannot these guys just not retire and head off into the sunset with their name and respect intact? This has to be more about ego and still being popular as I just don't get it. If he joined as an assistant or on the coaching staff that would make more sense and could be used if their was an injury crisis.

I agree with you. It feels like he's tanishing his legacy at this point. I see a bright future for him as a coach or commentator.

he could probably make more money doing either of those things than by continuing to play. I'm sure all the broadcasters would be very interested in him.
