Afternoon Run - 7km (hot hot hot!)
@dannewton just finished a 7.02km run, that lasted for 43 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 589.0 calories.
Description from Strava: Blimey its warm out there today! Highs of 26C is pretty unusual for us this early in the year. There's been a run of warm dry weather recently, but it seems to have kicked up a notch for the last 3 days... I started working in my new job today... its in an office the other side of the building to my previous one.
My old office sits in full sun in the afternoon, so it gets super warm in there... my new office is out of the direct sunlight and we can open windows as well, but it was still to warm in there as well. But to be fair, other than melting in the heat, I had a good day... there was LOTS of new stuff to learn, and I lost track of all of the spreadsheets I need to enter figures in and keep track off.
highs of 26C today, and still no rain forecast anytime soon!
Its also not helped by the fact that the dept is very short-staffed at the moment, so I've had various people from other depts (with previous experience) come and sit with me to try to share some stuff.
The last lady I worked with happened to live in the same village I did, so as a bonus, I was able to get a lift home... 15 minutes sat in a hot car was much better than being sat on a hot bus!
Once home I had plenty of time to go for a run before tea... so I did!
I chose a loop around the village, and for once I decided to make it a little bit longer by adding a loop on the right hand side of the map. This helped to make the extend the usual loop up to 7km... and in the heat of the afternoon sun, I chose to keep the pace slow and easy-ish.
I'm now writing this up at 7:30pm, and it is now starting to call down a little. Checking the forecast, there is still no end in sight to the dry spell, and I think we've managed 3 days of rain in the last 4 weeks... certainly unusually dry Spring weather.
In fact, I think I could do with watering the garden for once... I bet the pond needs filling up too!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

I try to run in the morning to avoid the heat generally. I find it hard work if I get too hot. No sign of rain here either, but it's going to cool down again. We were looking to get the swimming pool set up, but it needs to be fairly warm to use it.
