@dannewton just finished a 5.05km run, that lasted for 31 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 399.0 calories.

Description from Strava: Lets start with Good News...

Firstly, I'm wearing my shiny new shoes today, they are the blues in the picture - New Balance 880v12. I wanted a quick run out today to test them out and they were super comfortable as expected

And I do mean as expected, these are my 5th pair of these shoes, and they've all been fab.

Sadly it looks like the 880v12 line has now been discontinued, which means my next pair will be different, and I'll have to shop around and find a replacement. I do have a pair of 880v13, but they don't feel the same... as usual the shoe manufacturer has decided to change things just for the sake of it

In other good news, I now start my weeks holiday, which features a couple of nights down near Kidderminster looking for butterflies, and I'm long overdue a flippin' holiday so I can't wait!

And a last piece of good news...Regular readers will know about my niggly groin/hip adducter injury which affected my right side, and has taken 3 months of physio and exercises to sort out. So thats good isn't it :-)

Bad news??

I now have a groin/hip adducter injury which has now presented itself on my left side

I'm not kidding! Near enough the same place/same pain, but on my other leg... really fucking annoying I'll have you know!

It appeared after my run last Sunday:

Yes, this one, which at the time felt absolutely amazing, I felt light, and full of energy, and everything was moving well

Sunday evening, as I headed up the stairs to bed, I noticed a tightness in my groin, but was confused as it was on the left side (compared to the right side which was previously injured). I put it down to stiffness due to an increase in mileage, but after running to work and back on monday and tuesday, it was obvious something wasn't right

I took the next days as rest, with just some walking for active recovery. But when I headed out today to see how it was going, there is still tightness and soreness

Trying to look on the bright side, at least I know how to fix this one, as I've previously had to learn how to fix my right side, but I'd prefer it if my body would stop breaking down so I could actually enjoying this running lark, is that too much to ask?!

And another small bright side, I'm now on holiday, so a chance to rest and recover, and hopefully by the end of this week I will have some more positive news.

In the meantime, its time to start packing for the holiday, so I'd better crack on!

It's always swings and roundabouts. The shoe companies keep tweaking the range and that's a pain if you were happy with a given model. I've found some I'm happy with from Allbirds. There's just so much choice out there.

Sorry to hear you've got another injury. I seem to have got over my hip tendon issue despite not having much treatment. I saw a physio a while back, but it came back after he massaged it. Eventually it seems to have pretty much gone. I've got one less excuse now.

Enjoy your break.

haha of course it is! It would be so boring if it didn't.. and I totally get you. When I think I finally got out of all the soreness... another one shows up or some old wakes up again just to annoy me :D
