Description from Strava: Another freezing cold walk into work this morning, although certainly not as enjoyable as the walk in from yesterday!
As expected some of the snow had melted and/or been compacted down, which meant conditions where very variable!
It ranged from a few patches of still fresh snow, through varying levels of compacted snow/ice, all the way through to completely clear ground
Some examples below:

in the village, the roads were mostly clear but the path was mostly firm and compacted snow, still enough grip to not feel slippery

walking up the high street, what snow was left was very shallow, and was varying levels of icy or slushy
The image above was the hardest to walk in, as the levels of grip could change in just a few steps, but I had my trail shoes on today, so I was prepared at least!
Before walking in to work today, I wasn't sure quite how I was getting home. By which I mean, I wanted to run, but wasn't sure how safe it was going to be. After the walk in I was more confident the conditions it would be ok, helped by a couple of short rain showers after lunch.
By the time I was ready to run home, much of the snow that is left is now slush, and even more of the paths were clear. This lead to an uneventful run home, the only issue being my shoes got soaked due to the slushy puddles beginning to form.
Tomorrow calls for a rest day, so I'll be bussing it in and out. And then on Thursday it looks like the snow may return, although the forecast is very vague at the moment
The image show a chunk of snow appearing late Thursday afternoon, and we in Lincoln (or Bracebridge Heath to be precise) are right on the edge... we'll either get heavy rain OR heavy snow...

You will have to take special care of these things during the winter months because when there is solid snow, life becomes a little difficult and you cannot go anywhere until the road is cleared.
