@dannewton just finished a 12.43km run, that lasted for 73 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 960.0 calories.
Description from Strava: A twisty-turny type of run today. And better late than never too. I had meant to go out for a run first thing this morning before helping my partner pack the car to go back to uni... but that didn't happen, chiefly as I was quite happy having a lay-in this morning. Eventually after lazing around 'til after 10, we eventually got moving, and gathered all her stuff up
After she went at 12-ish, I then headed round to visit for Dad for lunch. We had fish 'n chips, and then I spent a couple of hours sorting some computer stuff out for him. I got home just before 4pm and procrastinated a little before making an effort to get changed and head out for the run.

As you can tell by the route, I didn't really have anything planned for this one, all I knew is that I wanted to get at least 11km done today, which would then take me over my 50km target for the week. I headed out with an idea of doing 2 'village loops' which at 5.69km each would just about take me to the target. 20 minutes into the run I decided I couldn't face doing two of these loops again (i've done them so often in the past) that I ended up just running up and down random streets just to hit the distance target
to be honest, while it made a change to keep working out where to go on the fly, I think in hindsight it would've been easier to have just done the 2 boring loops!
Anyway, I eventually hit my target, and then looped round the final few streets to get back home

50km weekly target reached, and the above also shows my yearly target, I will be aiming for 2026km in this year. A quick spot of maths shows that to complete this, I would only need to average 39km each week, so should be easy to accomplish if I am consistent
touch wood, no injuries this year!!
As for other goals this year, I've got some ideas in mind, and currently working out what is suitable/doable in relation all the other non-running stuff that I want to achieve this year. One race I would really like to attempt is Equinox24 which is a looped event, in which people can take part to see how far they can go. It takes place September each year, and for the 4 previous years I've been busy the weekend it has been held as I've been helping my partner get to uni. This year she finishes her degree, which means I'm gonna be free for this years event.
I do need to work out the logistics of it, and all the other stuff I need, but I would really like to do it, and just see how far I can go

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
