@dannewton just finished a 20.52km run, that lasted for 124 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 1739.0 calories.

Description from Strava: Time for the long run of the weekend. And just like previous weeks, I've created a route of over 20km, that also features some new paths/trails that I've not run on before.

You can see the layout of the route below...

The beginning sections from Bracebridge Heath into the center of Lincoln, I have previously run before, along with the final stretch up Canwick Hill and along the bypass back to Bracebridge Heath. at the end. However, the middle sections heading up Yarborough Hill and looping round the Northern part of the city are rarely done. The local 10k race (which I did last year) uses some of these roads, but other than doing this as part of the races, I don't usually run up here. I will be passing Lincoln Cathedral, which is always great to see :-)

Something else great to see today, was blue skies!

it was a beautiful morning for once, and was unexpectedly warm too at 12C

Although just in shorts and t-shirt, I briefly thought about taking hat and gloves., and I'm glad I didn't in the end. Could really have done with some sunglasses though lol

I began by heading out of the village, and down the hill towards town. I usually run straight up the high street, but have recently discovered a small footpath, which runs alongside the river. The path runs parallel to the high street, but is a much nicer place to run as it avoids all the traffic

After arriving in the center of town, I headed west to run up Yarborough Hill, which took me up to the top off town...this section runs through the Ermine estate, and is part of the riute of the Lincoln 10km Event.

I ran the event last year, and its soon going to take place this year on the 12th April. I thoroughly enjoyed it last year, but not sure yet if I want to take part this year. On the plus side it's a fab event, and it's local so no need to worry about travelling. On the negative side, it is ยฃ30 just to run 6 miles around a route that I could easily do for free any other day (like today for example!).

Always a joy to behold!

After pausing for a few minutes to take the sights, it was time to head back down the hill, back towards the town center. I took a different route back down, choosing to head down Lindum Hill, and across Pelham Bridge

Running past South Common

Past South Common, and then up Canwick Hill. The road then took me towards the Bypass, and from there it was an easy 3km to head for home

Thoroughly enjoyed my run out today, the route was interesting enough, but the best bit was being able to run in sunshine at long last!

I also took my Insta 360 camera out with me today, for the first time in ages. I've got a couple of important things happening later this year, and would really like to film some of it... which means I need to start practising with the camera and getting used to it. I'll be editing the footage this afternoon, and it is worthy of being shared, I'll add it here at some point

Other than that, I'll spend the rest of today getting stuff ready for work, as my holiday has now finished, and I'll be back at work tomorrow

next Holiday is already booked though for the first week in April, so I only have 5 weeks to wait before I can do fun stuff again. I'll be spending a week up in Scotland, but more on that in another post

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
